Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Before a cab takes you where you do not want to go, know that there is a difference between Power Plant and Power Plant Live!. Power Plant Live! is where the popular bars are.
  • If you hear the word VIP’s, it refers to the same place as Paws.
  • The Patuxent is the greatest place to eat on campus. For those who did not get this book, they probably will not know about it ‘til a month into school and will be eating bad Towson food.
  • The ratio of guys to girls.
  • The University Union is the main student center on campus.
  • Towson is one of the only schools where you can get beer delivered to your door at 3 a.m. if you are 21 or older.
  • Try to call Jimmy’s a half hour in advance on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
  • What is known as “the beach” is actually just a patch of grass where a lot of students hang out in between classes. It is located by Stephens Hall.

The Range of Programs

My program was very limited to schools on the east coast and Towson was the only school in state that had my program. I met with the director and it was the best choice for me. We have a speech pathology program, produce the most teachers in Maryland, Our nursing and education programs are very competitive as well as good. There is really opportunity to join any academic organization on campus there is a big variety it just depends on what you like to do

Why It Stands Out

Since towson is such a diverse university, they offer a lot of programs for these students. During thanksgiving break they have host an international student for dinner which i am getting involved in.
