Parking Permits
Parking permits can be purchased at the Auxiliary Services Business Office in the University Union. However, it is more convenient to purchase them online. Prices vary, but the meter police at Towson are extremely strict, so it is a small price to pay as opposed to the mounting parking tickets that can prevent you from registering from classes or even getting your diploma.
College Prowler Take
Parking can be stressful at Towson. During popular class hours, the garages can get packed, and it is likely some students will have to wait a long time in order to find a parking spot. As a result, it is recommended for commuters to arrive earlier than their class times in order to find a spot, especially when it snows. On snow days, many students must face troubles trying to get their vehicles out of their spots. Some of the parking garages are far from the rest of the classes, and many students must resort to those garages in order to avoid getting a ticket. Towson police are always ticketing, and they are expensive, so try to get a permit if you are bringing a vehicle to school. If you do not get a permit, there is sometimes room on the streets but not always.

Parking is horrible. Towson has too many students with cars but not enough spots. Be ready to leave for classes very early. |

You are not allowed to have a car...
You are not allowed to have a car freshman year. Many freshmen still bring their car, anyways, and park on the main street next to the dorm that they belong to. You can get many daily passes from the school for the times you cannot find parking on the street, which is kind of rare, unless you return with your car at certain hours. Parking gets extremely rough around 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., so you will have to come a little bit early if you choose to drive to class. On days that it snows, I wish you the best of luck because there is no parking anywhere! The streets are covered in snow, and cars are either stuck or can’t park in certain locations. Many move their vehicles into the garages, and then the garages are full. |

The parking is insane! Basically, if you don’t get to campus before 9 a.m., you will not find a parking spot. This really sucks, considering a yearly permit is about $200, and the amount of fines I had to pay for parking illegally surpasses that. |

Parking for commuter students is really tough. There are few spots, and garages are overcrowded during class times. If you get a parking pass on campus, it is likely you will park far away or have trouble finding a spot. |
Did You Know?Best Places to Find a Parking Spot The Glen Garage. Even though they added hundreds of spots to the Towsontown Garage, it’s still completely full by 9:15 a.m. Good Luck Getting a Parking Spot Here! Anywhere between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. or the Union Garage
