Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Towson is the type of school that, if you find the right people, you will have a wonderful experience. For those who have trouble making friends, it is highly recommended to get involved on campus. There are many organizations and sports teams that thrive in Towson and are strongly recommended in order to assist students in finding a solid group of friends. Some students love Towson so much that they just cannot pinpoint exactly what it is that they love so much. Perhaps it is the attentive faculty at Towson or the nightlife that has so much to offer. Maybe they just enjoy the small, comfortable campus setting that allows them to pass by familiar faces every day.

Towson is a school that becomes what you make of it. It is clear that the students who are engaged in their work or are interested in an organization gain a greater sense of appreciation for Towson. Just A Warning

Some people say they love it here but to me that is absolutely absurd. Towson is not anything that I hoped it would be. In a school of 18,000 it feels like there is less than 200. Very much a commuter/backpack school. Campus is dead 24/7 no matter what day or time it is. There is barely anyone walking around during the day and it feels like a ghost town. Everyone knows at least one person from the high school here. If they're from Maryland, which most are, half of their high school is here, which means cliques and friendships have already been established. I guess Towson is good for some people but as soon as I visited other colleges I started filling out transfer applications. Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into because I sure didn't and I wasted too much time here already.

If I Had to Do It All Over Again...

Well, if I had to go through this whole "college search" process all over again, I most likely would not have chosen to go to Towson. Even though it was my #1 choice, I was focused in the wrong direction. They don't have a variety of majors which is the problem I'm facing now. Right now, I'm at the point where I am thinking about transferring because of the lack of majors in my interest areas. Other schools that I have gotten accepted to had way more majors than Towson, but it was just that "peer pressure" pushing me to come to Towson...but otherwise the campus is great!

If I Could Do It All Again I'd Still Pick Towson

The friendships that I have made at Towson will last me a lifetime. I have participated in a few clubs and have always felt welcome where ever I wanted to participate. I have met the love of my life at this school and wouldn't have it any other way.
