Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students agree that it is not difficult to find transportation in and around Towson. On campus, there is a bus system that is convenient, but many students would rather just walk than wait. In the winter, the campus bus becomes especially convenient when the ground is icy and you are concerned for your own safety. Students who travel by bus or cab find it suitable, although many choose the local taxi service over the buses.

The truth is that, for the most part, everywhere you might need to go will only be a short walk away. The transportation systems at Towson and in the surrounding area are suitable but very often unnecessary. The cabs are necessary to get to downtown Baltimore, but you will not need them to get uptown. Students who do use the transportation systems provided find them to be reliable but difficult to contact on specific nights when so many students are calling them for rides.

Ehhh...

The college bus does transport students to John Hopkins, Loyola, and the Towson TownCenter, but no longer runs to downtown Baltimore. There is public transportation, but I have no experience with that. It is too expensive to keep a car on campus, but it would be nice to have a car on occasion.

There are a few options for transportation at Towson University. There's the collegetown shuttle which will take you downtown to Baltimore and drop you off by a Charm City Circulator (the city bus in Baltimore). This doesn't come that frequently though. There's also a shuttle that circulates campus but I do not think it's very frequent either. Transportation is better in downtown Baltimore with the lightrail and bus available.

There is never any parking. If you are one minute late to your car, you will have a ticket.Parking permits are 300 dollars and the parking garages are always packed.
