Since much of the student body is from the Northeast, most students are prepared for Towson’s weather conditions. It is important for those who are not from the Northeast to know that the weather is strictly seasonal in Towson. Summers are usually hot and humid, there is generally mild and occasional rain in the spring and autumn, and in the winter, Towson sometimes gets covered in snow. And bonus—the school often cancels classes on snow days if it gets too dangerous to drive or too icy to walk.

Some days are beautiful, and some are not so nice. It gets sunny, rainy, and snows every now and then. In other words, bring every type of clothing you own, from sweatpants to shorts. The weather at Towson is clearly not for everyone. For those who love strictly sunny weather, Towson may not be your first choice. Then again, rain or shine, there is always something to do and a reason to be active.

Not Really

If it's cold people aren't really outside, but if it's nice out the campus is lively. However, that's typical for any campus.

Weather

Being in the south of the mid-atlantic you do get some cold weather, but not too much snow. The winters are very cold and the summers are very hot. Haven't had the school cancel classes due to weather, but professors will. The classes are close to the dorms so it's not a bad walk. When the weather is nice everyone hangs out on "The Beach" or "Freedom Square."
