College Prowler Take
Trinity’s network connection is fast and up-to-date. There are several wireless internet locations, with more being set up. For the most part, the school uses DSL cords to connect, and the connection is fast. Students strongly recommend that new students bring their own computers, although it’s not a crisis if you have to use the computers in the lab. The labs are open 24 hours a day, and there are almost always enough computers for everyone who wants to use one. Students will often use the lab computers rather than their own to avoid distraction or to work with friends on projects. The Computing Help Desk is, as implied by its name, very helpful. It mostly employs students who are well trained. The Trinity non-student employees who operate and monitor the network will also help you fix your computer far beyond their job descriptions.

Trinity has updated its computer...
Trinity has updated its computer labs, and they’re very efficient. The computer labs can be crowded during certain periods of time such as during finals. Most students tend to bring their own computers, because each dorm room is equipped with an internet connection. |

Computer labs are never overly crowded, but that’s because just about everyone brings a computer. The network has its problems once in a while, but the problems really aren’t that serious. |

The network is pretty good....
The network is pretty good. Trinity’s Internet connection is fast, but with people downloading stuff from Morpheus, or other music sites, coupled with the porn downloads, it slows things down a little. That has to be expected at any school though, because who doesn’t like music and porn. It is always possible to find a computer at the computer lab, but having your own computer is still always advisable. |

There is Internet access available...
There is Internet access available all over campus. The computer labs are generally busy, but in most, it is possible to find an available computer. There are two computer labs that are open 24 hours a day, and the library is open until 1 a.m. Most students do bring their own computers for easy accessibility to e-mail and AOL Instant Messenger, which is a popular and easy way to communicate with friends. |

For those students who are able to...
For those students who are able to bring their own computer, the Trinity network serves as a great resource that is fast, fairly reliable, and easy to use. Many professors are now using the Trinity network to post assignments for class and to receive papers from students. In addition, the wireless network allows students to take laptop computers anywhere on campus without having to worry about connection cords or plugs. |
