College Prowler Take
Trin students care about their looks. Bright colors are everywhere, and most every guy and girl on campus owns a pink polo shirt. The “dress code” is very New England and preppy. That said, if you don’t enjoy wearing ribbons in your hair or pearl earrings to the gym, nobody will really care all that much. The guys and girls are, to use an overused but appropriate word, pretty nice. You will be able to find a social group where you feel that you belong. Hookups are, in general, more common than relationships. Trinity has a reputation as a party school, and it is not undeserved. If the grades below were based on outward appearence alone, Trin students might have received an “A” for both genders. However, the guys and girls both lose points for lack of diversity, a tendency to lean toward cliquishness, and even for some ego issues.

Trinity is known as a ‘beautiful people’ campus. The typical Trinity look for girls is brightly flowered Lily Pulitzer dresses, pearl earrings, designer jeans, Polo shirts with the collar flipped up, and CK Bradley accessories. The typical Trinity male wears jeans or khakis, and purple or pink polo shirts with the collar also flipped up. Both sexes wear flip-flops through November and start up again in early March. Although it seems that Trinity is overrun with white, Anglo-Saxon Protestants, there is diversity on campus and not everyone hails from Greenwich, Connecticut. There are different people everywhere at Trinity, and it’s up to you to find your niche. |

Bottom line for now—it is pretty hard to go to a Friday night party or to take a walk down the Long Walk without bumping into someone whom you find attractive. |

Trinity students are best...
Trinity students are best characterized as preppy. Walking around campus you will definitely see upturned collars, Nantucket Reds, and flip flops, but with each new class that passes through, the style is beginning to change. For a long time, Trinity was known for attracting good-looking males and females of the middle and upper class. However, as more students who are interested in the school for its educational opportunities (rather than the posh crowd it is known to attract) filter in, the school is beginning to change its reputation and form a whole new face. |

These people are gorgeous. Just about everyone is in spectacular shape and works to stay that way, and people really care about how they dress. This can distract you from your studies, but it means that you are forced to show your professors respect by not showing up in pajama pants. |
FactsBirth Control Available?
Yes - Different types can be purchased, or gotten for free, through the health center.
Social Scene
On the weekends, Trinity students rarely leave campus. There are always loads of parties on campus, whether sponsored by the school or by a social or cultural club. There are also many dorm room and frat parties (22 percent of girls and 27 percent of men join a Greek Organization while at Trinity). There are several bars in Hartford, such as the Brickyard, Bourbon Street, the Pig's Eye and the Tap, but usually the campus parties are more fun. There is heavy drinking at many of the parties, but it isn't necessary to drink a lot to have fun. The Underground Coffee House has live music and open-mic nights, and the Bistro also has weekly live music and comedy shows.
Hookups or Relationships?
There are more random hookup than serious relationships, although it really depends on what an individual student is looking for.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
Many classes focus heavily on student discussion, and so it is relatively easy to get to know the people you seen three times a week in the small classrooms. While many school-sponsored parties at the social center don't attract a huge crowd, some do, and the frat gatherings are usually pretty packed. The quad in the spring is always filled with sun-bathers and Frisbee-tossers.
