By and large, Trinity’s professors display enthusiasm and expertise in their respective subjects. In every department, there are professors whose classes fill up rapidly and who have the ability to make any subject fascinating, whether it is Shakespeare, astronomy, or business and finance. |

Computer labs are never overly crowded, but that’s because just about everyone brings a computer. The network has its problems once in a while, but the problems really aren’t that serious. |

Trinity has updated its computer labs, and they’re very efficient. The computer labs can be crowded during certain periods of time such as during finals. Most students tend to bring their own computers, because each dorm room is equipped with an internet connection. |

There is no student union, though Mather Hall attempts to be one. Mather contains a game room, which is not often populated with students, two of the dining facilities, an excellent coffee shop known as the Underground, and offices for Community Service and Student Activities. Unfortunately, the office aspect of Mather tends to deter students from hanging out there as they would in a more conventional student union, but the administration has made an effort to figure out what the students want in terms of a student center. |

Food on campus is decent. The main place to eat, Mather, is all-you-can-eat. Its selection is decent, with everything from a salad bar to a pasta bar to featured items like meat and fish. The menu gets boring after a while, and the food can often be overcooked. The two other options, the Cave and the Bistro are good for a change. The Bistro, with a more gourmet menu, is by far the best place to eat. |

The professors at Trinity are great. They are able to answer all your questions no matter what the subject. If they don’t know the answer to your question, they’ll help you figure it out either by referring you to other sources, or approaching the problem themselves. |

The Tutorial College program was...
The Tutorial College program was created by members of Trinity’s faculty who wanted to inspire dedicated sophomores to develop lasting relationships with their professors, taking the opportunity not only to learn, but perhaps to teach. The program requires professors to read and explore areas beyond their expertise, which they do happily, in order to further the experiences of their students. These few faculty members are a microcosm of the dedicated professors that Trinity employs. |

The teachers are really good about giving help. Most of them care, and they’re flexible if you’re a good student. I’ve been blown away by so many of my professors, and most of the classes still have me thinking. |

One of the advantages of Trinity is that you are guaranteed housing all four years, so you never have to worry, no matter how bad your housing lottery number is. |

The girls are hot, really hot. When spring rolls around, I just look around and thank God. Seriously. |

Trinity is often criticized for...
Trinity is often criticized for the uniformity of its students and the small percentage of minority students. One of the least appealing aspects of Trinity is the homogeny of its population. Most Trinity students are white, middle- to upper-class Americans who are intelligent and looking for a school where they will be challenged, but will also have a chance to party and let loose on the weekends. Many administrators have tried to tackle the diversity issue by enticing more minority students to look at Trinity as a viable option, but their efforts have yet to be seen, as far as the student body is concerned. |

Campus policy on drinking has been more strictly enforced recently, since Trinity has been gaining a reputation as a party school. Alcohol is taboo in freshmen dorms, regardless of the age of the occupant. |

The recent school presidents have all had different attitudes towards the drinking that goes on at Trinity. For the most part, the drinking is tolerated in moderation, which is as it should be. College students are going to drink, and it is better that they stay on campus to do it, rather than drive into unsafe areas of Hartford and then try to drive home. |

My first year at Trinity was a big adjustment. Coming from a public high school and being submerged in a crowd of boarding school graduates, I was overwhelmed with the preppy clothes, the drugs, and the elitist attitudes. I definitely had thoughts of transferring. But during my second year I found a group of students I automatically clicked with. Being such a small school, Trinity is all about groups and cliques and finding your own niche. Once that happens, the rest just falls into place. My academic experience so far has been intense and challenging, while my social life blurs into one big tantilizing fiasco. Although it’s nice to take a break from campus every so often, either for Thanksgiving, spring break, or the end of the semester, I always look forward to returning to Camp Trin Trin. |

I think that the men's squash team, which has so far won 10 national championships in a row (and heading toward the 11th, deserves some recognition here. The other sports aren't mentioned as much, it's true, but Trinity is always very competitive in the NESCAC, which is a very tough league!

Although Trinity offers its students top-notch academics and great athletic programs, the school is best known for its nightlife. From keg parties at the frat house to foam parties at the Party Barn, everyone on campus can find something to fill their weekend once Friday night comes. Trinity is known for the large party called Tropical that Psi Upsilon throws each year. The brothers of the fraternity fill the backyard of their house with sand and pools of water to create a beach-like atmosphere where students drink, dance, mud wrestle, and just let loose. |

Alcohol and drinking games (such as Beirut) play a large role in the nightlife at Trinity. Many students drink at parties either in the dorms or at the fraternities to relax, have fun, and unwind from the previous week. For those students who are not into the drinking scene, they may feel embedded in a drunken stupor, but if you look hard enough, every student is able to find their niche. Although most students party on campus some people choose to find local bars at which to spend their Friday and Saturday evenings. A long-time favorite for most Trinity students is the Tap, a local bar across the street from campus that turns into a Trinity haven each and every evening. |

Trinity College Activities Council (TCAC) and the Office of Student Activities both plan parties on a regular basis, with a party in the Vernon Social Center, known as the Party Barn, or the Barn, almost every weekend. The best party that is thrown in the Barn is undoubtedly the ‘80s Party, which turns out most of the school in neon colors and side pony tails. TCAC is also in charge of planning Spring Weekend, the big concert just before finals that all students can attend for free. |

Two of the frats are decent, and I’m not a frat person. I don’t drink, but I still have fun. I wish more people went to the Party Barn. Off campus, there is nowhere to go except for City Steam, where it’s fun to play pool. Otherwise, you mostly have to be 21. |

Trinity’s cultural houses sponsor parties, both at the Barn and in their own confines. A party from over three years ago, sponsored by the Asian American Student Association (AASA) is still talked about as one of the best parties Trinity has every seen. |
