College Prowler Take
Here’s a year-long weather forecast for Hartford: hot in both summer and fall, cold in the winter, and warm in the spring. There isn’t really any sporadic weather to worry about, and there typically aren’t any national disasters to deal with, except for the occasional flood. Expect heat and humidity when you first get to Trin-Trin; bring shorts and fans for your dorm room. That said, when January rolls around, expect cold, snowy days. Plan to wear sweaters and ski jackets, and don’t forget to steal trays from the cafeteria for sledding when classes are canceled!

Hartford has typical New England weather, which is to say unreliable and inconsistent. It may be 90 degrees on October 29, or a blizzard on April 3. A wide variety of clothing is recommended, from sundresses, shorts, and tank tops, to jeans, sweaters, and heavy parkas. |

Being in the heart of New England,...
Being in the heart of New England, Trinity experiences hot summers and cold winters. Temperatures in the winter average about thirty to forty degrees and in the summer the range is between 75 to 80 degrees. One of the great things about going to school in New England is the beautiful fall season. With the leaves changing color and the crisp air around you, autumn is a time of year that few other places can parallel. Most students bring two sets of clothes—shorts, tank tops and T-shirts for the fall and spring, and jeans, sweaters, sweatshirts and turtlenecks for the winter. |

As it gets warmer, Trinity gets prettier. Not only do the flowers bloom, but the guys and the girls start working on those tans. As soon as it’s warm enough, you’ll see the main quad and the Life Sciences Center quad full of people wearing next to nothing trying to get as tan as they can before April is over. Frisbees fly and people have a catch all over the place. You’ll find yourself commenting to your friends at least once a day that this is the kind of place brochure-makers dream of. |
