Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Here’s a year-long weather forecast for Hartford: hot in both summer and fall, cold in the winter, and warm in the spring. There isn’t really any sporadic weather to worry about, and there typically aren’t any national disasters to deal with, except for the occasional flood.

Expect heat and humidity when you first get to Trin-Trin; bring shorts and fans for your dorm room. That said, when January rolls around, expect cold, snowy days. Plan to wear sweaters and ski jackets, and don’t forget to steal trays from the cafeteria for sledding when classes are canceled!

Beautiful Fall and Spring but Harsh Winter

Winters can be harsh with the hills at Trinity, but buildings and grounds does an great job of keeping up with the place so it's always looking clean and easy to get around. During the warmer months students hang out on the quads and enjoy the spacious environment, and with the trees it is truly a sight to behold.

From NE

Im from NE so the weather was the same for me. I enjoy having multiple seasons but some people here complain about the weather. Fall is really nice and winters can get cold.

If It Snows, It Shows

Trinity copes very well with the weather, in general. However, being a New England school, it does get the worse part of snow storms. The snow doesn't affect the students so much, since the campus is quite small, but many classes end up being cancelled since professors may or may not decide to show up for class. It is sometimes very nice to see the nice blanket of white spread across the main quad, though.

Speaking of snow, it does get cold up in New England. Very cold. The cold keeps you very comfortable in your snug blanket, with your hot chocolate never too far from your side.

But the weather doesn't really affect living on campus much. The classes are generally close to the dorms, so snow isn't an obstacle for the students. The cold makes one reluctant to leave bed but, once one is out, it is easy to go from class to class, braving the blustery winds as you do so.
