Here at Trinity, it seems as if every faculty member works hard to help each student fully live up to his or her potential. Any student who asks will be able to receive personal attention from a teacher, and there are several resources for those who need help. Trinity has a writing center where students can take their papers and get them edited before turning them in. All professors post office hours and e-mail addresses where they can be reached, and they can often be seen strolling across campus in the company of the more inquisitive undergraduates—often referred to as “teacher’s pets.”
Inside the classrooms, the atmosphere can be different, depending on the class. Some classes are designed for note-taking, and any questions that may arise can be addressed after or in class. Seminar classes allow students to shine, as they are set up to foster discussion that is inclusive of every point of view. Some professors even grade partially on class participation, which encourages even the shyest student to occasionally make his or her voice heard. It is outside of the classes that the rigorous academic standards become more of a reality. The homework can seem overwhelming, and the sheer number of assignments will seem greater than the number of hours that you have to complete them. Yet, with some hard work and help from classmates, there should never be more work than you can handle. Simply put, academics are the best reason to attend Trinity. Whether you’re looking for ways to challenge yourself, or simply trying to find outlets for your creativity, there will be something here to accommodate your intellectual needs.

I have loved Trinity as a school. The academics are GREAT and there is healthy competition among everybody. The classes are very small—in some cases too small and the professors play favorites.

Except for one jerk of a Spanish professor, I really enjoyed all my teachers, and I got to know many of them well. They seemed in tune with me and the other students, and took a lot of input from us. Also, they were always available when I needed to see them or ask questions. |

In my experience, the professors at Trinity are very helpful and easy to approach. They are passionate about what they teach, and that helps to make classes more interesting. |

Most of the teachers really want to help the students. None that I had ever tried to flunk me—of course, I was never an engineering or pre-med major. |

The teachers are good, but some of them do nothing but lecture. The classes that were the best were the ones where the teachers asked a lot of questions and let us discuss, although not too much. |

Did You Know?
The Coates Library at Trinity University Texas houses over 900,000 books and has subscriptions to over 2,500 magazines.
The mural that wraps around the staircase is the world’s largest montage mural. Students still seem more interested in the nearby coffee shop.
During finals or right before a big test, students can often be found near the library, but not necessarily inside it. To some, it is considered good luck to study for a test next to the “Magic Stones,” a sculpture series outside the Coates Library. Lucky or not, these stones have the power to coerce students out of their rooms and onto the grass for some relaxation on a sunny day.
Once a semester during finals, students gather together during the middle of the night outside the freshman dorms to participate in Primal Scream, a chance to yell, eat food, and relieve stress.
Trinity has a wonderful study abroad program that allows students to travel all over the globe and receive credit for the classes that they take while abroad. This means that they can experience a new learning environment and still graduate within four years if they choose to.
