Cars are broken into a few times per semester. People come in and steal laptops from the library and classroom buildings. The campus also doesn't like to talk about rapes that happen on campus so that the rape rate isn't high.

I hated Trinity when I first arrived because I came from a little private Catholic school which just didn't have the same crowd as Trinity. I've come to like it a lot more, but transferring is on my mind.

Just being the little liberal school that Trinity is, you won't see die-hard fans in the crowds at sporting events and sometimes you might not even see a crowd at all. There are jocks who play sports and then there is the rest of the student population. Besides those people who play sports, people couldn't care less about sports.

There are some really good places to eat around Trinity that are dirt cheap. My favorite place is Mainstreet Pizza. It's cheap, fast, delicious, and Trinity students get discounts.

The facilities on campus are all fairly nice. There is definitely a lack of study lounges and many of the freshman dormitories are in poor condition. Classrooms are all updated with newer technology. My only complaint is that the weight room at the gym is quite small and cramped.

I have absolutely no complaints. I love the library. The mural on the spiral staircase is one of my favorite things on campus. And the many cushy chairs by the windows and tucked away behind book cases are wonderful places to get some reading done. Some of the laundry facilities leave a little to be desired, but as dorms are renovated, they are making necessary changes in that area. In terms of athletic facilities, while we don't have quite as nice a personal recreation room (treadmills and elliptical machines, etc.) as other universities I have seen, the dance studio is great and I love the personal racquetball courts. We have two gyms and a pool. We have many beautiful auditoriums and stages for productions.

I feel safe on Trinity's campus, but crime has gone up in the last two years. As long as you don't leave valuables in your car, leave your car/room unlocked, or leave valuable personal things unattended, you will be fine.

I came from a town with no diversity whatsoever, so to me this campus is pretty diverse. Of course upper-middle class white kids make up the majority, but there is a significant multicultural population that has expanded my once-narrow view of diversity. Ideologically, it's pretty split down the middle. However, there is an absence of political thought on campus, which kind of disappointed me. Few homosexuals, and most of the girl ones stick to the same sorority.

San Antonio is one of the most amazing cities in the world for restaurants. If you take the highway, its only five minutes to the Riverwalk, which is always fun to take friends from out of town or go on a date. Surrounding Trinity are some great local restaurants on Broadway and Main Street as well. Don't be afraid to try those little hole-in-the-wall restaurants, because those usually have really awesome food.

I would definitely come back to Trinity. This is pretty much the most amazing school around. Sure, it's a relatively quiet place regarding night life, but that's nice. The important thing is that it's small enough that you really feel a strong community between you, your classmates, and your professors.

The campus, overall, is not diverse. I went to a mostly white high school, and things just got whiter when I got to Trinity. Diversity, however, is available and present, if you go out of your way to find it. The multicultural network is very strong and does a lot of campus-wide events, but none of them are mandatory, so a multicultural experience will not be handed to you if you attend Trinity. Just like a class, you have to persue it.

Our African American population is woefully tiny. There’s a good Asian and Hispanic population. We have many multicultural societies, and anyone is welcome to join them. Economically, the campus is very diverse. Half of our students are on financial aid and scholarships. Many are rich, many are middle class, and many are poor. Everyone socializes with just about everyone, regardless.

Hot? Yes. Attractive? Maybe, if you like men who can crush beer cans with their foreheads. There are some nice guys, but overall, the girls are hotter than the guys. But maybe that’s because the guys don’t wear halter-tops all the time.

The dorms on campus are fabulous....

The dorms on campus are fabulous. They have huge rooms, all with balconies and suite-style bathrooms, and a maid service every other week. They are fairly utilitarian, but then again, they are dorm rooms, so they have a high turnover rate in owners. It is really easy to personalize your room, and there are tons of options and ideas on how to work with the space. They are enormous, and often have room enough for an additional sofa and television area. I would try to avoid Beze and Herndon Halls; they are commonly called the ‘ghetto’ because they are in bad need of renovation, and are the smallest and darkest dorms on campus.

The dorms are generally very good. Of the freshman dorms, Winn is the most social, Murchison is the best if you are lazy or perpetually late (it’s closer to all the classes), and Herndon has the worst mold. Upperclassmen dorms are generally better. Thomas and Lightner are known for drunken frat boys and vandalism, Prassel is a palace, but farther from the rest of campus, and McLean is best for oddballs and those who like to live near the food.

For first year dorms, Winn is the nicest. The others aren’t bad at all, especially in comparison with other university dorms. To get Winn, sign up for HUMA 1600. It’s a class you’re offered over the summer, but it’s not well described. What it is, is an everyday class (two days seminar, two days writing workshop, and one lecture day) that focuses on improving writing via topics and readings on ancient Greek and Roman literature. The students who sign up for the class get the nicest dorm—Winn third, and you take care of both your writing workshop and seminar requirements out of the way in one term. The floor is great and the people who take HUMA are spectacular. As far as upper campus, I like Prassel because it is far away and is called ‘the hotel’ because it’s so nice.

By senior year, students are...

By senior year, students are allowed to move off campus. There are many options that students can pursue; most of them are very convenient. Many houses and duplexes are available for great prices along the West and Northwest edge of the University. Small apartment complexes exist immediately along Trinity’s north and northwest border. All of these options are within walking distance of campus—some of them are even closer than the dorms themselves. Competition for this housing is high, but with students graduating every year, the turnover rate is fast enough that it is rare for a student not to be able to find something. A five- to eight-minute drive from campus resides more good options. North on 281 behind the Quarry are four apartment complexes that are new and affordable. Apartments to watch out for are the houses and apartments located east of campus. This area is not especially safe, and while the rent is low, many residents can lose their savings because of theft.

I am now finished at this school,...

I am now finished at this school, and although I generally have had nothing but positives to say, I am not so sure that I was entirely satisfied with the school. There is not enough diversity in terms of other students, or in terms of course offerings and programs at the school. As such, it kind of feels like I missed out on the college experience. By being small, a school can be user-friendly in some aspects. But you will be limited in what you might be able to take advantage of and who you might be able to meet. It is nice to get to know classmates in these smaller classes, but if you are looking for an adventure, then do not come to this school. All in all, it is great, but the place can definitely be plain vanilla. And that can wear you down. Do not come to this school if you are easily bored.
