Trinity is one of the most secure campuses in America, and that safety extends far beyond protection from outside aggressors. The Department of Campus Security actually looks out for kids who might have had too much to drink, but many times they act more as “parental figures” than police officers. The RAs and police officers don’t want to bust every party on campus, because there would be no end to the trials in student court. As long as students don’t try climbing the dorms from one balcony to the other and risk breaking their necks, DCS isn’t likely to interrupt an on-campus party. Social drinking is such a strong part of campus life that authority figures look the other way, for the most part, and spend more time protecting campus from potentially harmful outside elements.

Of course, students who have a record of causing problems and have received multiple warnings from DCS should be aware that some have been expelled before for piling up multiple offenses. Punishment for doing so is not often harsh, but students have been kicked out of school before. If you know that you’re a loud, obnoxious drunk, then try heading to an off-campus party, rather than risk getting yourself and your friends in trouble.
