If a wide selection of exciting eating establishments is going to make or break your college choice, Truman probably is not for you. The only sushi or couscous you’ll find is in the ethnic foods aisle at Wal-Mart, where the chimichangas and the crab rangoon are delicious and kind on your wallet as well. On the bright side, when you only have 15 potential off-campus choices, decisions become much easier.
Students are very protective of their off-campus dining preferences, and each of the Mexican and Chinese restaurants have devoted, vocal factions. And for a campus surrounded by pastures and pumpkins, the restaurants are nothing to shake a stick at. There’s really nowhere to go wrong—every establishment serves plentiful and fine-tasting meals, and all are within close proximity to the University. Thousand Hills State Park Dining Lodge is the farthest from campus, but it is still less than a five-mile drive. With so much in easy distance, it’s no wonder that half of the student body contentedly lives off campus. Plus, after weeks of Sodexo campus food, nothing tastes better than chips and queso dip or cashew chicken.

Food
Off-campus dining is alright, there are the usual fastfood choices and a couple unique places to dine. Everything is rather inexpensive

Not Much Around
The restarauts around campus are pretty good, but there aren't very many of them. The ones that are here have good prices, good food, and good portions just be prepared for few options.

Fast Food
If you like McDonalds, Burger King, Subway, KFC, here's the place for you. However, the only nice restaurant in the town is Ruby Tuesday.
