College Prowler Take
The verdict is out: The majority of Tufts students will tell you that the food on campus is great. Students here who have been to other university cafeterias agree that they are lucky because it could have been a lot worse. There are always fresh vegetables and fruits in the Tufts dining halls, Campus Center eateries are generally packed, and Sunday brunch is one of the largest social events on campus. The one drawback is that the food can get monotonous after a while, but fortunately, MOPS—a restaurant delivery program—provides the opportunity to order in, while still putting the bill on your meal plan. The unlimited meal plan is required for the first year, which some students resent. And while it is true that you probably won’t get to eat all the food you pay for before the end of the semester, having the same meal plan provides a common bond between you and everyone in your freshman class. And remember, there are still three more years to experience all the on-campus options outside of the dining hall, like Brown & Brew and Dewick.

Dining halls are for freshmen and sophomores. Once you get to be an upperclassman, you usually eat at the Campus Center, which I love as much as the cafeterias. There’s plenty of selection, and a huge salad bar. |

We have awesome food. My parents were shocked. I swear the food is better than home cooked. |

The food is said to be better than most other schools, and I would say it’s alright. There is a large selection in the dining halls, but we also have a service that delivers food from restaurants in the area. The deliveries don’t offer such a great selection, but they are more for juniors and seniors, who usually make their own food anyway. |

Apparently, we have good food in the two dining halls on campus. I’m sick of dining hall food, but the dining halls provide a great atmosphere for first year when you get to know everyone. |

The food is nothing spectacular, although I have been to other places and their food stinks, so I guess that’s a sign that Tufts’ food is good. There’s plenty of variety. |
