College Prowler Take
Tufts is in New England, so you’re going to get weather from all seasons. It is really hot from May to August, extraordinarily rainy in March and April, and pretty much cold and snowy the rest of the year. Fall semester, it will snow probably just a few times, but despite the name, “spring” semester is much, much colder, and students will return to campus to see it covered in snow. Don’t be surprised to see it snowing in April and even May. The good news is that the campus is so beautiful that all seasons are pleasant (to an extent, of course), even if they’re not always comfortable. If you are looking for warm weather year-round, obviously Tufts isn’t for you. To survive, a sense of humor about the weather is all it takes. Feel free to make jokes about the occasional floods from all the rain or how Tufts is too cheap to air condition the dorms. And when it snows, feel free to grab a sled, a dining hall tray, or even your roomate’s mattress, and go sledding down the President’s Lawn!

During school, you get great weather right when you start and right when you end. Sometimes, there’s a lot of snow during the winter, and the fall is beautiful in Boston—it’s quite a sight to see! |

I love New England weather—it’s so seasonal. No weather has ever prevented me from going out. Snow days are awesome, and the campus is not too big to have to brave the elements sometimes. |

New England weather is very bipolar. It's either super hot and gross and humid or really, really cold. It's bearable but can really get to you, and the extended cold can make you depressed. |

We get a gorgeous fall and late spring, but in between it stinks. It gets cold and rainy, and then it’ll become inexplicably sunny, oftentimes within a 21-hour period. It’s not too muggy like it can be further south, but it gets pretty warm during the summer. |

The weather is horrible, absolutely horrible. If you’ve lived in a warmer climate all your life, you will be so depressed. Trust me. |
