I have enjoyed the team projects and presentations the most. I have enjoyed the writing assignments as I am a writer myself and this was an opportunity to polish my writing skills. What makes Umpqua Community College unique is its resourcefulness and for me the veteran representative in Financial Aid has been a huge help to me during the pelt grant progress. And I have to mention the water fountain that sits in the center of the campus grounds that shoots water about 15-20 feet in the air. For me, this symbolizes that we need to be flowing free and shooting high in our goals and objectives with regards to our education.

I think our school has tremendous resources and programs to assist students while they are attending. There are financial aid and scholarship opportunities along with extracurricular programs and organizations to get involved with. I was a part of a marketing team that redesigned the "alumni program" brochure with additional ideas and benefits. I have also participated in the "entrepreneurs club" and "engineers club" meetings and activities as well. These programs and activities make attending college more rewarding and engaging the community in education and services.

I have been attending Umpqua Community College under the VA Vocational Rehab & Education Chapter 31 program. This has allowed me, a displaced veteran worker to be retrained back into the work force. In addition to going to school I have been in a work study program at the VA Hospital here in the town in which I live. I am on track to graduate in 2014.

I have really enjoyed the "business management" and "leadership" classes here at my school. I have had several great instructors on my path to furthering my education. I have struggle at times with the work load, financial distresses, and family situations but have managed to make it work for the best.

There's usually a good selection of classes and times for which to take them, so you're not completely restricted. and if there's room, A lot of the instructors are really nice about letting you sit in another class time if something comes up in your schedule.

I have not yet graduated from UCC but I know that I constantly see information about career services at the school and the staff is always willing to help me with questions i have about future career placement.

Attending classes when scheduled, completing assignments on time, completing all the reading assignments, and asking questions when unsure about assignment details. The staff is very helpful but they can only help you if you pursue it.

Will be my first year here. So I don't have a detailed review. The interactions I have had with staff on campus has been very positive. Their website has something to be desired though (not student friendly).

Average. Very reasonable accommodations for the community size

For the most part most of my online classes were productive. I wasn't always happy about some of the participation exercises that were necessary, I understand the need for it, but some seemed excessive for the credits earned

Little or no support from the general facility. my professor however really does care and works hard for the student. He is a rare gem in this school and the ONLY reason I still attend as a working adult.

Young crowd, from a small rural area. Not very interactive.

It's pretty decent. I think some of the teachers might not be qualified to teach or maybe they're lazy but some of them could just care less.

You can get ahead of the class with online courses. That is always an A+.

The campus offers pretty good programs although you have to qualify for certain programs.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Process was not clear. I had to do this requirement, and when I was finished with it, there was another requirement that I had to do that was not there to begin with. I had to take three or four different steps in order to finally complete the financial aid process. Also, there isn't any other scholarships provided by the school (ex. state scholarships) so I had to take out a little loan to have enough to cover for all of my school expenses even though it's only a community college.

UCC is the only nearby school that offers a paralegal degree. The overall registration process is smooth and hassle-free

The teachers I've had have all been helpful and effective. And their angel online system is good at what it does.

College is different from high school because you get a wider range of age difference. You get people from all over trying to become successful in there career path and are trying harder to reach their goals then you may see in many high schools.

I haven't started my college life till the fall of 2013 but, have enrolled in my classes. I believe my program is about making a positive difference in peoples life's. Even if to get the positive outcome it may feel negative to the families. I know this program comes with a lot of circumstances but u am willing to go through them in order to change someone's life. If that's counseling them in a school to becoming a social worker and getting the children out of bad homes to opening and running my own daycare I know that I am changing and making a difference. Is that not what life is all about? Making a difference. I am ready to meet and grow in my education with people on the same career path as me. Ready to make new friends, learn new things, and start my adult life successfully

We have about everything a school should have, such as a library, computer labs, and a suitable student center. The one thing that does kind of irk me is that you have to pay an extra nearly $100 to use the fitness center. The library is often more of a hang-out than a quiet study zone, too. But it's pleasant enough, and there are separate quiet zones.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
