Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The drugs are attainable if you want them, but they are totally avoidable if you don’t. Keep your nose clean (no pun intended) and your eyes open because as with anywhere else, having and/or doing drugs can get you into serious trouble here. Drugs at Union aren’t necessarily a “scene” per se, but there is a market for them in some circles. Just because a student takes drugs every once in a while, however, doesn’t necessarily mean that he or she is considered a “druggie.”

Students here like to play hard, but they are also required to work extremely hard, too. As a general rule, harder drugs seem to float in sororities and fraternities more than in independent circles. There really is no cause for concern at Union when it comes to drugs.

Drug Scene

You can find drugs in you want them, and avoid them if you prefer. You will have little to do on weekends however if you don't participate in drinking.

No Pressure Here...

Before coming to Union, I was worried about the drug scene. However, after being here for almost a year I can honestly say it is no different than at any other school. There is no peer pressure, if you want to do drugs or drink alcohol, you can. If you don't want to, there are plenty of options involved with the U Program going on all the time. Most of the U Programs involve winning something, like an iPad or restaurant gift certificates. For those who do want to drink, if you are smart about it, you will never face getting written up by an RA or getting points on the discipline system. The school accepts that some college students drink, as long as you are not in danger they will look the other way.
