Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students feel quite safe on campus, although, walking alone at night can be a little harrowing. The important thing when it comes to safety at Union, or any college for that matter, is common sense. When you’re out walking at night, try to walk in groups. If you’re alone, try to walk in well-lit areas and avoid dark alleys or streets. Usually, as long as you’re not asking for trouble, there shouldn’t be any problems. Most of the problems that inflict Union seem to come from the city rather than the college itself.

All in all, campus security does a good job in keeping the students safe. Most of the students say the amount of security guards and their presence make them feel that Union is a safe campus. However, they sometimes have the tendency to overreact to what one student calls “typical college behavior.” While security may overreact to drinking or rowdiness, Union’s campus security is quick to respond to calls, and they do their job quite well.

Ed Is the Best<3

Even though the school is not in the "best" area, I have never felt unsafe on campus. Campus safety, nicknamed "Campo", sometimes likes to bust the large frat parties, but are usually very agreeable. Ed is the best campo<3

Pretty Safe

Crime only occurs on off housing locations. Some stealing in dorms, but that is rare. Campus Security is pretty decent. Unless it's a real emergency; they don't arrive at your destination until 10 minutes later. There are a good amount of blue emergency stations set up through campus.

Health and Safety

I feel very safe on campus. There is always the blue light system around that if something were to happen to me I could easily get to them and get help right away. Campus security is also always available. If you need an escort at night back to your dorm, you just give them a call and they will be right there to get you. I feel like the campus is always very safe and that there's always someone looking out for someone else.
