| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
The Becker Career Center is very helpful when it comes to finding a job or an internship for Union students. They will help students with cover letters and résumés. They show you how to download your résumé onto a Web page to make it easier for employers to find you and visa-versa. The people at the Career Center will help you network with alumni, and they frequently host job fairs for students of any year. The school recommends becoming familiar with the Career Center as soon as possible, even though you may not be thinking of a “career” yet. It is an invaluable resource to everyone and anyone on campus. Start building your résumé as soon as possible. Don’t wait until your junior year to get an internship or begin writing your résumé. Even if it is something you don’t think you want to be doing years from now, don’t sweat it. You can always do another internship if your schedule permits. Any experience in any field will help you prepare for the challenges that lie ahead.
