Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The fall is stunning here at Union. The foliage is breathtaking and the grounds are always well manicured. Students are out playing rugby, soccer, Frisbee, and campus golf literally until the first frost. When that frost comes, watch yourself because the winters in upstate New York are brutal. If you like that sort of thing, (foot upon foot of snow), then you’re in luck because there are plenty of places nearby where you can go to ski, snowshoe, or snowboard. If you don’t like snow, then you just have to suck it up and dress warmly. Be prepared to keep those sweats available until late March or early April.

Keep in mind, however, that after these wicked winters, even 40 degrees seems warm. Once you do make it through the winter, you can, first, give yourself a pat on the back, and then allow yourself to enjoy the lush green grass, aromatic, flowering trees, plants, and perfect weather. Springtime at Union is gorgeous, and everyone is in the greatest of moods. It’s also the best time to get a date at Union.

Cold!

Schenectady is really cold and windy- be prepared for that. It's not too bad, though. As long as you bring a winter jacket!

Winter Blows but Spring Is Totally Worth It

So Fall term is gorgeous with the changing foliage, everyone is still outside and staying active. Winter Term blows, literally. Its windy, we have blizzards, everyone has cabin fever and its freezing. However, Spring term once again makes up for the severe winter weather, and is amazing. Don't disregard Union because of its awful winter, consider it because you will DEFINITELY have something to look forward to in Spring

Winter Term Is a Little Tough but Managable.

Winter term is a little tough because it snows a lot. However, not any more than any state in the north. As long as you bundle up and limit your time outside it is not a problem. Fall and Spring term are wonderful and gorgeous.
