As stated before, one of the best things that you can do is to study the Bugle Notes prior to coming here. Another thing is to ask a lot of questions, not only about West Point, but also about the Army. Before you come here, you have to make sure that this place is really for you.

Interviews are required for admission to West Point. They are usually conducted in the candidate's hometown by a Field Force member. The interviewers generally contact the candidates about scheduling the interview.

There are candidate orientation visits available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday during the academic term. From 8:45 a.m. until 1 p.m., prospective students will accompany a current cadet to class, visit the barracks, and eat lunch in the mess hall. An overnight candidate orientation visit is available to candidates who have received a Letter of Assurance or Offer of Admission to West Point. These overnight visits can be scheduled Monday through Friday during the academic term. Candidates will accompany a current cadet to class, spend a night in the barracks, and eat meals with the cadets in the mess hall. These visits are by appointment, and must be arranged at least two weeks in advance.
