Almost none of the cadets are satisfied with the amount of restaurants in Highland Falls. The area is pretty much devoid of fine dining. A lot of times, your options are so limited, you will feel as if you have been to the same place a million times. There are, of course, the staples of any college diet-pizza and Chinese food-and cadets seem to get sick of this food nearly as quickly as they get tired of eating in the mess hall. If you order out, you have three options: you can order from McDonald's, you can order pizza, or you can order Chinese. That's it.

Although the majority of cadets seem to get tired of the mess hall food, they don't feel justified complaining since the mess hall food is free. Food off campus is obviously not free, so the cadets are much more willing to complain. What's there really isn't that bad. There just isn't much of a selection available. For a lot of the cadets, the lack of alternatives has made them more appreciative of a good, home-cooked meal. So it's not all bad news.
