Like everything else, the best thing about parking is that it is free. Now, on the downside, the only permanent parking for cadet vehicles is a 15- to 20-minute walk from the barracks. On some weekends, however, cadets are authorized to park their vehicles in parking lots closer to the barracks. Parking can get crowded during major events, such as football games and family weekends. But what school doesn't have that problem?
Overall, most cadets agree that the parking on post is adequate. Just like everything else, you have to be flexible. The problem that most cadets run into is when, either because of apathy or laziness, they forget to move their car from one place to another. Sometimes cadets can't get a spot exactly where they want, but usually parking is pretty amicable. After all, West Point is not the largest campus in the world; there's only so far you could possibly walk. It's not like you're going to have to walk three miles to an academic building if you don't get the best parking spot.
