Worst Things

  1. You will miss all of the sleep you used to take for granted.
  2. Drill is a hard thing for civilians to get used to.
  3. Sometimes the fun is "mandatory fun," and that isn't very fun at all.
  4. The brigade tactical department has issues.
  5. You can't just pack-up and leave campus whenever you want.
  6. Freshman year is as hard as it gets at the Academy, making it through that can be tough.
  7. The English department leaves much to be desired.
  8. The weather could be better.
  9. The schedule is grueling.
  10. Sometimes, all of the traditions get to be a bit much.

Unbalanced Student Population

It might be hard for some students to find a date with a male-to-female ratio of 82/18.

Professors Are Still Learning

Only 43% of faculty have earned the highest degree in their field.

AP Credit Wasted

Any AP credits earned in high school aren't eligible for college credit.

Campus strictness is awarded a failing grade because you can literally get away with nothing here at West Point; and that's how it should be. USMA is attempting to mold leaders of character who can lead Soldiers in the battlefield. As a result they will not let the typical college antics go without punishment. For simple things, such as being late to class, there are disproportionate consequences. Punishment is handed out fervently and often, but on the same note is easily avoidable if you stay within the guidelines expected of you.
