College Prowler Take
The public transportation in Albany gives students who do not have a car on campus a way to get around the city. The CDTA bus service is free for all students who have an Albany student ID. The service offers transportation to the downtown area, the malls, and to many other places in surrounding cities. Cabs are a great way to get home from the bars at night. It is not recommended to take a cab anywhere else, because the wait for a taxi can be over 45 minutes.
Train and bus service is available to students who are traveling to New York City, Boston, and other cities in and around New York. Even the airport isn’t far away, and the shuttles run frequently enough to make catching flights home or out of the country for spring break a whole lot easier than most places.

There are buses that come to campus that run downtown and also to the mall. If you need to get back to campus from a party downtown but it’s too late to catch the bus, you can always find a taxi. It’s pretty easy to get around town as a freshman without a car. |

There is a public transportation system that runs from the morning until midnight. It is fairly convenient if you have never lived with a public transportation system before. If you are from NYC you will think it is lame, but it gets you to where you want to go. |
