Bama Dinning – Off-campus dinning is definitely a convenience for students. The Strip is right next to the campus and has many different kinds of restaurants and bars. Some restaurants/bars take bama cash or dinning dollars which is money you pay for to have on your act card. Along with this many of the bars have college nights where students who are 18 can get in. Then we have midtown village, which is only a few minutes off campus, that has many more restaurants like Panera, Kobe, Iguana Grill and many more.

Pretty Good – The dining halls themselves are alright. Some are a lot better than others. One dining hall is infamous for being the worst, but it seems to have gotten better this recent semester. They've started incorporating some more vegetarian options so I'm sure a lot of people were happy. As for around campus, there are you're typical sub places, pizza places, burger places, etc.

Health & Safety:
They have police and emergency buttons stationed around campus, but I still don't really feel completely safe. We had an incident last semester with a stabbing so I have mixed feelings. It's not completely unsafe, but it's not completely safe either.

It's a deep South college. What you expect is what you get.

Computer Labs – The labs are nice and spread throughout campus. Many offer both Mac and PC options, as well as computers that can be booted using multiple operating systems (if you know what you are doing)

Make Sure You Are Ready! Unlike many other majors, there are no "weed out" courses until junior year, when it is too late to change majors. Thus, be sure you want the workload before you commit to the upper level classes, which are HARD. Professors are pretty nice, but the research being done is uninspiring.

Accounting Rocks! I love my Accounting major. I have had some super accounting professors who have helped guide me through my changing majors to Accounting. I have been able to secure an internship this summer that I am super excited about. My professors have been a great help to me through my courses and I look forward to grad school in Accounting beginning Fall 2012.

Lots of Choices – There are many choices of off-campus dining around the campus and near many of the apartments students live in. Many dining locations are within walking distrance from the campus and from many apartments.

Tuscaloosa, AL – There are all kinds of activities going on all the time around the city - both related to UA and also community activities. You just need to find the ones you like and join in. There is also the Bear Bryant Museum you can visit on campus.

Courses Are Great for My Major – I enjoy the courses in my core major. Some of the general courses
are not interesting nor do I wish to take them, but they are required. I would pick UA as my choice of University and also my same majors, I have a double major in Theater and Business. I hope to fall more on the Theater side, but thank goodness I have the business side to fall back on.

The city and UA campus have a great emergency plan in place in case of severe weather like we had in April 2011. Classes were shut down and students on campus were directed to sheltered areas. Parents are even notified via email about the conditions and the plan that is in effect depending on the situation.

although the majority of the population is white, there are other ethnic backgrounds represented for other parts of the United States. I have had good experiences since being here.

Buses Take Too Long – The bus comes fast but takes forever to take you where you want to go.
College Junior 2012-04-06T21:38:05Z
Long Walks – The dorms are super nice. Especially the honors dorms. If you live on campus, expect long walks to class especially if you are in the honor dorms.

Great Food – The food is really good the first week. But you get sick of it really fast.

Drugs take place at every college; I do not think the drug scene at Alabama is anything out of control or out of the ordinary.

I eat off campus basically everyday. There are lots of options and variety, but none of the restaurants give a student discount which is unfortunate. Bento Japanese is by far my favorite restaurant and anyone who visits Tuscaloosa has to eat here; i eat at Bento at least two times a week.

All the computer labs on campus have MAC computers which is amazing. They all have printers and the network is always reliable and fast. The wireless access has its glitches sometime but it usually works pretty well.

The financial aid process is a little hard to understand but the staff on campus is very helpful and will let you know anything you need to get you started

Parking on campus is a little expensive but you dont always have to get a permit. There are places around campus to park and walk about 10 min to class. If you dont have a permit on campus you will deffentily get a ticket with a small fine. There are many buses that will take you around campus is you are far away. Over all i thnk parking is pretty good.

I love the University of Alabama. I came here because of the beautiful campus and amazing Law program they offer. The teachers are more then helpful and are always there for anything to help you with. The advisors help you with all of your needs for the future and after classes, UA has an amazing athletic program to go watch and support the tide

Ok...Not Special – The 4 different dining halls on campus are good. They all serve the same type of food and it starts to get old. but besides that, you will enjoy the choices. Very Standard, nothing extravagant!

My school is all about tradition, and I really respect and love that about the University of Alabama. Things aren't always changing, the looks of things my get a little more modern, but nothing big is going to change. Also, it's such a beautiful campus. They keep this campus looking absolutely perfect. I never see any trash, it is always clean, and there is pretty green grass and trees all over the place. Campus life is so fun, and everyone is super friendly here. It's that southern hospitality! Roll Tide!

Health & Safety:
Pretty Safe – I have always felt really safe on campus. During the day, there is absolutely nothing to worry about ever. The night time could be a little different, but we have tons of on campus cops who parol around and keep everything calm and safe.

I love my major! The classes can be tough, but as long as it's something your interested in, and you put in the time to study, then you will be fine. I have a job and full day of class everyday and I use my night time wisely to get my studying and homework done, and I have an A in my major for the most part. I have never made anything below a B. It's really interesting, there are great teachers and advisors in this program who make everything pretty easy. I get e-mails when it is time for advising or when they want to let us know about new clubs or events going on. I get to do a full 12 credit hour internship my last semester of school, which is 360 internship hours, and I am really looking forward to it!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
