Good Selection – They do have a good selection of majors and minors.

Not Enough – The parking situation at UA is lacking. There is not nearly enough parking for the dorm that I live in. The tickets allotted for lack of a parking pass are outrageous. This is not to mention parking on game days. There are zero parking spots available on game days.

Most of the off campus living communities recommended for students are relatively affordable and very new in construction. They seem to be well maintained and have good perks that are included, such as: pools and workout facilities. They are all pretty close to the campus.

Knowing Where to Go – Tuscaloosa is most definitely a college town. Yet, it has its local attractions and culture that differentiate it from only being a "party" town. We have Moundville right down the road if you would like to check out the old Indian heritage, as well as the historical aspects of the town and its affiliations with the University throughout its history. Also being near to many outdoor activites such as hiking, climbing, canoeing, camping, and of course Lake Tuscaloosa for an amazing summer break. It's a nice atmosphere if you know how to enjoy it.

Entering the Real World – To be a register diatian I would have to choice either to do a nine month internship or a program on campus. There are many options of different internships and locates therefore I do not have many concerns.

Roll Tide – Game days are always the best days of the year. The quad is covered in tailgating tents and TVs to watch the game. Everything on campus revolves around the sports teams mainly football.

Guys & Girls:
Greek Life – As you walk around campus all you see is the frat boys in khaki pants and polos while the sorority girls wear over sized t-shirts and work out shorts.

total of 4 dining halls. One dining hall closes then opens again from 10-1 for Latenight. One dining hall is for the athletes, in which they feed you well, because anyone can go in. One is in the central location on campus called the Ferg. One is good and is pretty nice. Best place to use meal plan is at Bryant dining during lunch.

Parking at the University of Alabama is absolutely terrible! Avoid bringing your car. If you do, make sure you leave it parked unless it's an emergency, otherwise, your parking spot will be gone when you return. I would recommend learning the bus system and using it.

Dining Grill – The Dining Grill at the University of Alabama is one of the best on any college campus I have visited. The food is always fresh, tastes great, and cooked to perfection. Along with food from the grill, they offer many different desserts, salad bar, and a variety of drink options.

Center for Academic Success – The Center for Academic Success is a building at the University of Alabama that is specified for student tutors. Appointments are made by the students to be tutored by other students who have taken the course they need assistance in. The tutoring if free and includes free computer services, printing/copying, and tutor evaluation forms to fill out before and after every session.

Computer Labs – Computer Labs are very helpful when your own laptop is not working right or cannot print out a paper. There are four main computer labs on campus and each has printers that you can use. There are also computer labs in the each of the libraries. But most of the labs are full especially during certain times of the day. I recommend you buying a laptop and printer.

The University of Alabama, like many schools from the SEC, boasts often of its tradition. Many people who have never been on campus or seen an Alabama football game cannot understand what kind of tradition I am talking about. The University of Alabama was founded in 1831 and has some of the oldest traditions of any universities in the country. Walking around campus you can see the tradition in the ornate buildings seen all over campus with their tall white columns. If you walk over to our football stadium, which is one of the largest stadiums in the world, you will notice our walk of champions. This walk is dedicated to the thirteen national championships that our football team has won and to the coach's who won them. Tradition is by far one of the best qualities that sets our school apart from others.

Guys & Girls:
Girls, Girls, Girls – I think that we have some of the best looking girls in the country at The University of Alabama. We do have the largest sorority system and Greek Life on campus constitutes roughly 1/4 of the student population. The girls dress very well and look amazing in their formal dresses on game day!

Health & Safety:
Very Safe – I have never felt unsafe on The University of Alabama's campus, it is a large campus, but there is good lighting everywhere on campus. I keep my door locked and lock up my bicycle wherever I go to avoid theft. We have campus security as well as campus police.

ROLL TIDE – I have had a very good experience at UA so far. I have met a lot of really nice people and my grades are better than they have ever been. All of my professors are very helpful and are willing to do anything they can to help you be successful in their class.

Parking is not very convenient for any of the students. Unless you return to your dorm very early or go to class thirty minutes before it starts, more than likely you will not find a decent parking space. Parking permits are very expensive and in my opinion are not worth the money we pay for them.

off campus housing can be expensive depending on how close you are to campus. if thats where you are looking to live start looking by the middle of october the LATEST!!! they go fast. i have a two bedroom house on paul bryant and i have to pay 695 a month. but other than that its great! i suggest living as close as possible because parking is rediculous, they ticket you for everything

I live in Tutwiler. I heard they're tearing it down after this year, but either way it was a very fun bonding experience, even though the showers are nasty. Julia's, the little food market in Tut, will be the lone source of your freshman 15...I love that place! I've heard Rose towers sucks, but they're tearing it down this year. I have some friends that live in Ridgecrest and they love it, although I personally like the location of Tut a LOT more than the nicer dorms.

The Strip – Everyone goes to the clubs on the strip on the weekends (or weekdays, for that matter). Harry's is the "freshman bar", where they're super lenient about fake IDs. 348-ride, our drunk bus, will literally save your life freshman year more times than you can count. A lot of people will go to fraternity parties instead of the bars if they don't have a fake (you have to be at least 19 to even get into the bars, usually 21 though).

Obviously football runs the school, and you don't hear many people complaining about that. The school spirit is absolutely amazing and there is nothing in this world like waking up on game day with that excitement in the air! I don't know much about the other athletic teams, unfortunately.

The nightlife here at the University of Alabama is unique amongst most other schools. Although most parties revolve around the Greek life (fraternities and sorioties), other people will surely have something to do any night of the week. Alabama was the state of the art recreation center where anyone can go and workout, play basketball or racketball, or just kick back and relax.
College Junior 2011-11-16T07:11:12Z
The University of Alabama is a place of southern charm and southern comfort to the max. Although devastated by a terrible tornado earlier in the year, the community is in the process of rebounding and making the community more unified then before. The people here at the University of Alabama are down to Earth, good people. Everyone is friendly, for the most part, even if you don't know a fellow student, all you have to do is hit them with a "ROLL TIDE!" and it will surely bring a smile to any face.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE – NOT GOOD FOR STUDENT'S HAVING TO TRAVEL LONG DISTANCE FOR BREAKS.. EXAMPLE FOR THANKSGIVING WEEK SHUTTLE ONLY RUNS TIL 2PM THAT TUES & I HAVE A TEST AT 3:45 WHICH MEANS I WOULD HAVE TO PAY A PRIVATE SERVICE $150.OO TO GET TO AIRPORT TUES. NIGHT OR LEAVE THE FOLLOWING MORNING WED WHEN THE FLIGHTS ARE MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE & RETURN BY SUN FLIGHTS MORE EXPENSIVE CAUSE NO PICK UPS FOR THAT FOLLOWING MON AFTER THANKSGIVING.
