Campus Life – Alabama's campus life is awesome! There is always something going on.

Bama Ride – Bama Ride is the bus system used at the University of Alabama. It is very clean, and the bus drivers are really nice. The only down side is that they have a route and they have to stop at those places, and if it is before your stop you have to wait. I would not suggest using it to get from class to class.

Rec Center – The rec center at Alabama is awesome. It is very clean, and has a lot of fitness equipment accessible to students. They also have a really nice lazy river to relax in after a stressful day, or a water slide to slide down for fun!

Paying the Price – Campus strictness is mostly only seen academically. If you are caught cheating or forging academic material in any way, you are reported, your parents are notified, and you could potentially have a law suit on your hands. It's not worth messing around with at all. On the other hand, cops aren't too strict about underage drinking. As long as you're not making a fool of yourself you should be okay. Drugs are a whole different story, however. You will immediately be taken to jail if you are caught doing drugs in any way.

Drinking Day and Night – At the University of Alabama on a Friday night, you could find 90% of the student population at a party, bar, or house drinking. Drinking is prevalent at any social event, mostly parties and football games. Drugs are not as popular, but a lot of people do smoke. On the weekends and especially game days, cops can be seen around campus but they usually don't intervene when students are just drinking. Personally, I believe that in fraternities and sororities peer pressure is somewhat of an issue, because a lot of students drink just to fit in with everyone else.

The University of Alabama has a very strong academic foundation. The professors make themselves available as much as they possibly can to the students, and the advisors seem to be willingly involved in their students' lives. All of the professors I have communicate with us through e-mail, and they always respond quickly. That has made me feel like I am a priority to them, not just a student passing through. In my smaller classes the individualized attention is very helpful. I enjoy going to class at the University of Alabama.

Being a nursing major is like not being apart of the university. The program is so demanding it does not allow much time for leisure or recreation. You spend majority of your time studying and in class. The nusrsing program is so unique from the other expectancies on campus. When it comes to grades they are scaled down. So a 80/B is actually a C. This alone causes you to push yourself a lot harder. The workload is unreal. It is required for you to put the nursing program above everything else. Education is a very important factor in life, but I would not recommend anyone who is not serious about their education should not lean towards a program so demanding. The staff try to help those who try to help themselve. No one babysits you.

Roll Tide Roll – We don't play football, we LIVE it. Alabama is all about our football team. Our capstone is centered around what the football season brings in. Fall semester is the most exciting, fun-filled semester at UA, and it's all about football. Alabama is the only school I know that help off returning to school for the championship game in 2010. :)

We MIX in Well – The campus has a good percentage of black and asian students. Other minorities are looked over, but at least they have clubs and organizations to help them bond and come together. All in all, I think the minorities blend in very well with the caucasian students.

Hard, but Good for You. I came to UA for it's dance program, and the program is awesome. Cornelius Carter is a wonderful professor, along with Sarah Barry and Rita Snider. The program lets me express myself in ways I knew I would not be able to do at any other university. Academically, UA is tough, but hard work pays off so that when you finish a class here you feel that you have really learned the subject. The department heads are easy to talk to and they faculty make a big college seem smaller when the advisors personally know you and what assistants to offer you. I love UA!

Guys & Girls:
Being a big Southern school, Alabama males and females are very friendly and outgoing. The girls are all friendly outright, although some Southern belles can be mean behind your back. The guys are just as friendly and very gentlemanly. You'll never have to open your own door or carry your own books if you're a girl at Alabama.

The technology available in all the different labs, libraries, studios and buildings is very advanced and user-friendly. The only problem is that in libraries and computer labs, computeres and spaces fill up quickly, especially during finals weeks. As an Interior Design student, a computer is very necessary so it's expected that all students own one, as well as know how to use one.

As an Interior Design student at the University of Alabama, I have really enjoyed learning about what it's like to be a true interior designer. The classes are generally small which I benefited greatly from, as I was able to learn a lot more than I would from a larger class. The professors are really good about communicating via e-mail, which is also very helpful since most the requirements for the classes are online. For the most part the professors are real interior designers themselves, which gives students a good insight as to what the field is really like. There are many different internship and career links provided from the very beginning, so I know I'll be able to start my career as soon as I finish college.

Campus Apartments – The UNiversity of Alabama has a wide variety of apartments in tuscaloosa. These apartments are close to campus and provide transportation for students to and from school. However, it is very hard to find an apartment that is inexpensive and is already furnished.

The Beautiful Tuscaloosa – The University of Alabama is lucky to be surrounded by so many attractions in such a small town. There are a lot of places for students to get away from the work for a while and just have some fun. For instance, there is the strip mall with different stores and restaurants. There are movie theaters, parks, skating rinks, and most important churches.

New Life Experiences – The University of Alabama is a very great school for students who are interested in futhering their education. They offer students the chance to experience growing up and learning the quality of responsibility. The professors and advisors are very helpful in ensuring that each and every student is showing their true potential.Their is a mixture of smaller classes and bigger classes and they both give an equal amount of benefits. Admissions is very helpful in making sure that incoming freshman are notified on the aspects of the University of Alabama. The campus is very big and diverse, which gives every student a chance to experience different cultures.

Parking on campus is fine. You will find a spot, it is just driving a lot and wasting gas, but it is fine.

Here to Help – The University of Alabama almost every program you need. My major is political science and I love it. The teachers are here to help you and very nice. They are available to answer questions and give you extra help if you need it.

Social Work – With social work there are a lot of opportunities at hand. Having volunteering as a must puts the students out there for future references when it comes to jobs or doing your internship with the company you volunteered with. The workload is sustainable, it's never to over-bearing or stressful. Everyone in the department seems to work together and well amongst others.

You Pay a Fine for the Crime – Our police are very strict about underage drinking and drug abuse. The highest penalty is getting kicked out of the University which can ruin someone entire furture. So my advise is dont abuse the substances.

Guys & Girls:
At the University people express themselves how ever they feel. It amazes me how different people can be in the way they dress. At this school it is easy to be yourself and you will definately find people that have the simalar taste and style you have.

I decided to attend the University of Alabama because of the different ethnic groups on the campus. I love to learn about new people and there cultures. Also, I love the fact the campus is so big and contains everything you would ever need to be a succesful student. Most of the professors are great and will help you when ever you need them. The workload can be intense but you must manage your time. There are oppurtunities for help everwhere.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
