Football is almost a religion in Alabama. It’s a tradition that takes over the school and even the town. Students count down the days until the fall in anticipation of the start of the football frenzy. People from all over pack into the Bryant-Denny Stadium for every home game to show their Crimson Pride. Football game days are a statewide holiday in Alabama. If you’re not a football fan, don’t fret. All you have to do is experience just one Bama game in the student section and you will be changed. The game is not the only fun part about football. There are parties, bar and restaurant specials, bands, and new people to meet. Game days are a tradition on this campus that will never get dull. Football is not the only sport Bama takes pride in. The baseball, basketball, and gymnastics teams are always ranked high. If you’re a fan, you won’t have a problem showing your support since admission is free to students. All you have to do is to show your Action Card. Try Bama’s IM sports if you’re interested in playing. There are plenty to choose from, and there are teams for men, women, and both. No matter what sport you’re a fan of, Bama’s athletics won’t let you down. If you’re going to be a true fan, be prepared to yell, “Roll Tide!”

Football is a religion. Tuscaloosa...
Football is a religion. Tuscaloosa is known as a drinking town with a football problem. We take great pride in all of our varsity sports (basketball, baseball, softball, and gymnastics), and IM sports are popular year-round. I hear that a lot of people in campus organizations that I’m involved with participate in things like ultimate Frisbee, soccer, softball, flag football, and other IM sports. |

There are plenty of athletic activities on campus! We have a huge Recreational Center where you can work out and sign up to participate in IM sports. I am sure that you have heard of our football tradition, but the basketball games are also a lot of fun. There is always something going on with University of Alabama athletics! |

Getting Tickets
Getting student tickets for UA athletic events is probably the easiest thing to do on this campus. Students can simply get into any event by showing their Action Card, except for football games. Getting football tickets consists of a little more work, but not much. All students have to do is sign up for football tickets online (www.rolltide.com). The student package consists of one ticket for every home football game, and the package costs $35. This is a great deal since these tickets are usually sold around campus at extremely higher prices.
Most Popular Sports
Football is by far the most popular sport at UA. It’s not only a popular sport, but it’s a tradition. All other sports take a backseat to football, but basketball and gymnastics gather a pretty big crowd, as well.
