Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

As far as drugs go at UA, if you want it, then you can get it, and if you don’t, then you won’t see it. Drugs are present at every school, and it is up to the individual to decide if they want to be around it or not. There is a rumor that cocaine is big at UA; however, most students say they have never seen it. The most common drug among UA students is Adderall, which students use to stay up late cramming for exams. During exam time, Adderall is everywhere. Students are not worried about getting busted for it since it is a prescription drug. Marijuana is also popular for some, but police are usually looking out for it. One thing for sure is that this town is a drinking town. Even if you are not 21, getting alcohol is no problem.

If a student is looking for a certain kind of drug, it can easily be found. However, most of the drug scene is kept quiet. Students not interested in drugs can easily stay away since they are not used by everyone. The Greeks are stereotyped to use drugs the most; however, drugs are kept hush-hush, so it is hard to tell. Although drugs are around, students do not feel pressured to do them.

ABC is cracking down

Alcohol is the most prevalent substance on campus, but usually you're fine if it's in a red solo cup. Off-campus bars are basically impossible for underage kids now since ABC started cracking down. Fake IDs are also useless at the bars. Weed is used in some circles, and coke is also, but it's a bit more underground.

Drug Scene at the University of Alabama

Drugs take place at every college; I do not think the drug scene at Alabama is anything out of control or out of the ordinary.
