College Prowler Take
UA students don’t only enjoy using the facilities on campus, they also take pride in them. The Ferguson Center, or the student center, is one of the most visited facilities on campus. It offers students numerous places to eat, a post office, a supply store, and even pool tables. The Ferg is a great place to go between classes. You can always find students there reading, studying, or hanging out around Starbucks. On the upper level, there are student organization offices and meeting rooms. The Student Recreational Center is another widely-used facility that offers plenty of exercise equipment and workout classes. UA added a lazy river and waterslides, which has become a very popular hangout. Overall, students enjoy the facilities and think the University successfully strives to keep them clean and comfortable. Although some of the buildings are older, UA is constantly renovating to bring the most up-to-date facilities to campus. There have also been some new buildings built over the years. Students say that the unique structures of older buildings bring additional character to the campus. Many recommend taking a tour of campus and checking out the four buildings that survived the Civil War to learn about UA’s history.
