Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

For the most part, students agree that the UA police live up to their jobs. Although some students can recall a few problems in the past, they believe that no school is completely safe. At UA, there’s no reason to walk alone at night since the school offers a free escort service, 348-RIDE, which provides students with free rides between campus locations. There are also plenty of emergency phones located all around campus if students have any problems. Tuscaloosa and UA Police have teamed up to better patrol the Strip and have installed cameras and more lighting in appropriate locations. There’s no worry when it comes to the dorms because UA police patrol the area, and there are RAs in all of them.

With the UA police and the Tuscaloosa police patrolling the school day and night, students feel safe while on campus. Some of the female dorms even provide parking lot escorts. Although students feel safe, they still express how important it is to be smart while on, and especially off, campus. Always lock your doors, do not walk alone at night, and do not leave your belongings lying around.

Safety

Campus has never seem unsafe to me. All dorms doesn't allow random people to come in unless they have an ACT card. And there are blue emergency call poles where you can quickly call for help if something was wrong. Not to mention there's campus security everywhere.
