Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

If students need a break from on-campus dining, they don’t have to go far. Most of the popular restaurants are located right around the corner. Tuscaloosa offers everything from fine dining to fast food. Chances are, any type of food your taste buds crave is here. Students enjoy locally-owned restaurants along with the chain restaurants. With all there is to choose from, students have trouble picking just one as their favorite. For a laid-back social atmosphere, students prefer Buffalos Phil’s, Crimson Café, or Pepito’s. For more of a “night on the town” restaurant, students suggest Depalma’s, Café Venice, or Cypress Inn. For students watching their pocketbooks, places like City Café offer good Southern meals for lower prices.

Students don’t have to worry about finding a place to eat in Tuscaloosa. There are many restaurants of all kinds located on the Strip and downtown, so students don’t have to worry about traveling far. They encourage others to try some of the unique places that Tuscaloosa has to offer, since there are so many. If eating out is putting a hole in your wallet, don’t worry. Dining Dollars and Bama Cash are accepted at many off-campus restaurants, making it easy for students to pay for their meals.

Not Enough

They have opportunities to pay for your food using the card that they assign to you. They are constantly adding more vendors to the list but some less interesting than others but I will give them credit for trying enough to let the whole city be able to take that sort of money due to the many off campus and out of state students.

Several Choices

There are so many other choices for dining off campus and have much better prices than on campus dining. For what you pay at a dining hall, you could easily have a 4 course dinner at a nice restaurant.

Bama Dinning

Off-campus dinning is definitely a convenience for students. The Strip is right next to the campus and has many different kinds of restaurants and bars. Some restaurants/bars take bama cash or dinning dollars which is money you pay for to have on your act card. Along with this many of the bars have college nights where students who are 18 can get in. Then we have midtown village, which is only a few minutes off campus, that has many more restaurants like Panera, Kobe, Iguana Grill and many more.
