Good Luck Getting a Spot Here The Ferguson parking lot

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students say parking is the worst thing about UA. Getting a parking tag is easy and inexpensive, but depending on where you live could make it difficult to park. Students living off campus get commuter parking tags, and these lots are usually full. But, if you get to the lots right when classes get out or if you take early classes, then you should find a spot. For the students living on campus, get used to walking because there is not a lot of parking. Don’t panic, the school is compact, so the walk is not bad.

On or off campus, students recommend you walk or park someplace for the day and walk from there to classes. If you are set on driving, then leave early and wait for students to get out of class, then park in their space. Parking is tough at UA since there are more spots for faculty than there is for students. Students suggest walking so you do not have to worry about traffic.

Terrible

When I was a freshman there was rarely any place close to my dorm to park. If you move out of the dorms (highly recommend) then unless you are really lucky generally its still a good walk to class, for instance there is a commuter lot maybe 20 yards from my apartment. It's just easier to walk to class.

Expensive Parking Decal and No Parking

Parking is horrible if you live off campus and dont get there early. It can also be a problem for people living on campus because you will have a decal for your area but there would be no parking spots so your forced to park somewhere in another area and get ticketed. Also decal price is outragous, the cost from this past year was $260, and it may increase who knows.

Getting a Parking Permit

It is very easy for students to get parking decals. Students must get a resident decal to park on campus, and off-campus students get commuter decals. All you have to do is sign up, and the price is billed to your student account
