Handle "Changes" Better

If you change your schedule, call and make certain that financial aid updates your award schedule and offer. Monitor your account constantly. Fin aid and student receivables do not communicate well with each other, so you should just ask for a supervisor if you ever feel that you're being misinformed.

Lots of Merit-Based Scholarships

They have equal scholarships for both in-state and out-of-state students. If you score a 27 or higher on the ACT or a 1210 or higher on the reading and math portions of the SAT and have a 3.5 or higher GPA then you are guaranteed a scholarship. These scholarships are only for people who apply by the December 1 priority deadline, so I recommend applying by then.
