If you don't have a car, getting to food off campus is a coooold walk away, but there's a wendy's, ling and louies, mcdonalds, TacoBell, Subway, Popeyes, KFC, Long John SIlvers, etc. There aren't many places that give student discounts but La Mex (Other side of town) and Papa Johns do. Most of these places are cheap, ling and louies can be pricey thouhg.

There are just a handful of off-campus dining options near UAA. More are available the farther you get from campus. Availability off off-campus dining is primarily fast food chains, but full service menu options are usually available up to the late hours and more limited during the weekend. Only a handful of places offer student discounts. Best places to check out are the Tap Root Cafe (across town in west Anchorage) and Organic Oasis (again across town in west Anchorage) and Paris Bakery & Cafe (in east Anchorage, but it has limited hours of availability), otherwise there are more downtown and in south anchorage.

Restaurants beat on campus dining any day except fast food, those places are gross (McDonalds and KFC). Best places to check out are Applebees, TGI Fridays, Tequila Kitchen, Taco Del Mar, Taco King, and Quiznos.

I haven't been to any restaurant that gave me a discount for the meal I ordered.

Off campus-dinning is good. My favorite places to go to is Thai Kitchen and Fryo's
