If you don't have a car, living off campus is hard. There's no UAA shuttle system of campus and the public busing system is too infrequent to get people to class on time unless they're spectacularly early.

The cost of living off campus is extremely high. Many college students are not able to afford the high living costs of housing, food, and gas. It is a safe area of town for the campus to be and its surrounding off-campus living. The school offers a program where they try their best to match you to roommates in the school if you are looking for off-campus housing. The location of most off-campus housing is very convenient. There are stores always available and within walking distance of most places.

Its not worse than some places but definitely not better than most.

There are many types of off-campus housing, from single room apartments, to two-bedroom apartments, to condos, to single rooms in houses, to houses for rent.
Availability near campus is very good (within 30 minutes walking distance).
Availability near shopping centers is very good.
Cost varies depending upon type of rental unit.
Landlords are decent.
Parking is average (sometimes on-street parking, sometimes parking lots, sometimes adjacent to driveways/carports).
Safety is average (some parts of town are more high-crime areas than other parts of town).
School has bulletin boards, which are better than an online service the school offers for such service.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
