They are about average compared to other schools, the student body behaves quite well

There is no underage drinking allowed. That is more common for the rowdy freshmen. Marijuana is also pretty common. There are always campus police driving around campus. They go by the three strikes law. Third strike, you come REAL close to losing your housing. Knives are allowed though, and are very common too. Just as long as you don't over do it, like have a machete or switchblade in your room.

The strictness about drugs and alcohol makes the dorms a better place to stay.

I think the University does a good job of being strict on policies, but the consistency is headed down hill. Each RA in the dorms apparently has different rules, each time you get pulled over or stopped you get told something different. Cumulatively, UAF does not do a very fine job of keeping a consistent policy.

While Residence Life and the Campus Safety Officers are present and policies do get enforced, much of the campus is relaxed without being so relaxed people get hurt. Much of the time it feels like security is right where it belongs, although I do knock it down a letter grade since there are times, especially special event weekends, where security can be so smothering it ruins the fun without really being necessary.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
