Campus events needs more frequency to get the students through the long, dark winter

Student life is pretty good. They will usually have different activities, especially for those who live in the dorms. Fashionable clothes are not popular. Heavy winter clothes and work clothes are very popular. Most students are easy to get along with. Not too many fast food joints on campus. Besides, the campus food is way too expensive. It is much better to go to Walmart. There are many different clubs to join and many different sports events to attend.

UAF tries very hard, they have many opportunities, however, students rarely take enough interest in them. There are a lot of student run organizations, which are beneficial for the students running them, but they don't attract a very large audience, and therefore facilitate only a small demographic.

UAF is a long way from being a super fun campus, but its trying and getting better. Three years in, I can say that there are more activities that appeal to all audiences, more involvement, more diverse student clubs and more tolerance for people's race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and political background.

There are plenty of things to do on campus if you stay involved and informed. The student events are growing in number, but many are centered around students who are new, younger or live on campus, non of which I am. I spend more time in the library or at the campus pub with friends to study or socialize. Mainly, I hang out off campus. The campus is beautiful, but being in the middle of Alaska, the winter can be hard.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
