I have yet to receive Financial Aid because I have not been accepted to UAF yet but I have received my paperwork that explains how much I will receive. The application process was tedious and over bearing at times. The reason behind is because I didn't have the necessary information and had to hunt for it (Mother's income tax information). All in all, it is a tough process but well worth it because it will help me pay for school.

The financial aid employees were very helpful and answered all my questions clearly. Make sure to apply for financial aid early!!! You can start to apply in February. I didn't and now I'm paying for it, literally with all my student loans I'm taking out. Make sure to apply early and apply for every scholarship you can get your hands on.

The amount of aid offered is great-getting it is the problem. The process can take much longer than anticipated especially if you're not on top of your financial aid requirements. There are a lot of hidden technicalities, so it's important to be aware of your specific scholarships. Especially before your balance is due.

It always feels like you have to twist arms, but it is there. Unfortunately it is the arm twisting that always makes it feel like it isn't even worth the struggle, and no one really seems willing to ever make it easier.
