Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The UA has a lot of nice computers, but most students will tell you to bring a personal computer if you can. If you can’t, you’ll just have to learn how to survive in the computer jungle. Fortunately, it's not a problem; there are many computer labs around campus. The ILC (Integrated Learning Center) in particular is well-known, as most students have at least one class there, and the monolith of an underground complex also attaches to the library. If you're not a fan of taking your chances with the crowds of homeless people and World of Warcraft fanatics stealing valuable space, you might want to consider finding an alternative. You could go into the Career Services lab. Hardly anyone goes there, way up on the fourth floor of the Student Union! Being lonely not your style? Head to different departments around campus; there are several that have their own (usually-unoccupied) specialty computing areas for students.

Learn these secrets, and your computer-based experiences will be more pleasant, especially if you can’t bring your own. If you can bring one, you will enjoy the fast Internet service that’s offered all over campus. The Wi-Fi might be among the fastest around college campuses; it's not uncommon to stream Netflix in perfect HD with nary a frame rate or compression hitch. In general, the UA cares about providing a comprehensive computing experience for everyone, and it happens to be one of the most positive things the University has to offer.

Good Computers Available

There are several computer labs at the university and all are stocked with relatively new technology. The wireless internet is also reliable even if you might hear students complain about it. Printing can be pricey though, unless you're in the honors college or in a major with a department that provides free printing services.

Computers at the University of Arizona

There is a high abundance of computers on campus, making it easy for a college student without a computer to do online homework. Printing on campus costs a small fine, and the network is usually reliable and fast.

Great Computers

Most of the computers at The University of Arizona are Mac based which is great because everyone should be using Mac nowadays. But they also have PC's too for those who haven't made the switch yet.
