Pomfret environment depends on what wing you are on. I was in Bwing, and it was great. People are friendly and diverse. The great room is a great place to hang out and do homework. There is always some kind of event going on which is cool. The cafeteria is decent. It gets the job done, but can be repetitive. One negative is the walk up hill--killer. No worries, there are always buses running as long as its from 7am-6pm.

Sometimes, the first-year experience in the dorm can really depend on the roommate. Roommates can end up in each other's weddings or end up as gossip fodder for friends and classmates. Freshman year can be a little overwhelming. The best thing to do is keep an open mind and remember that everyone else is in the same boat. Students are the master of their own college experience, so they shouldn't just sit in their dorm rooms playing Call of Duty. Joining a fraternity or sorority is one way to meet people. In addition, there are more than 350 registered student organizations on campus; there should be something for everybody, and if not, students can always start their own club. It's easy!

Arkansas will prepare students for whatever major they choose, but once again, this is college. Students are not living in their parents' house anymore; they have to do their own laundry and force themselves to go to class. "Ninety percent of success is showing up," as Woody Allen once said, and this saying applies with going to class. Some teachers keep attendance, but most don't. It's easy to get carried away with the party scene and flunk out, but students who try hard and show up to class will be fine. The University provides everything you could ever need to succeed at your fingertips—you just have to grab it!
