For the most part, UB is a pretty safe university. There haven't been many fights or crimes on campus. If incidents do take place, UB has a wonderful police department that takes the job seriously. Overall, when crimes do take place, the suspects will be video taped because UB has surveillance cameras around campus for the safety of the students, staff, parents, and visitors.

For a commuter school, UB has a pretty good health center affiliated with the University of Maryland. Students are able to get treatment for illnesses, receive physicals and prescription services, and are also able to obtain birth control. However, the clinic does not accept the University of Baltimore health insurance.
