Not entirely sure what you mean, but I know plenty of people who have found significant others here. There aren't a huge amount of attractive people here, but there are certainly enough, regardless of whether you want to date or just hook up.
wow, are you serious?
considering 53% of the undergrads are female i dont think males outnumber females
but yes major selection is going to have a huge impact on the girl:guy ratio of your classes. it is very apparent in engineering majors/classes
on the other hand, take a psych or sociology class and then the ratio shifts the other way

Berkeley has never really prided itself on its “hot” guys and girls, maybe for good reason. While some conventionally and exotically attractive guys and girls can be spotted on campus every day, most Berkeley students choose to focus on their activities, schoolwork, and friends, rather than their appearances or clothing. Many guys complain about the small proportion of physically attractive female students at Berkeley. For the most part, girls exert very little effort into their appearances, and it definitely shows. The girls, however, are not without their complaints about the guys at Berkeley. Many complain that the guys at Berkeley are either too shy or uninterested in the opposite sex to initiate a conversation that could lead to a possible date. Due to these factors, the dating scene is barely existent.
Although the opposite sex at Berkeley may not offer much from the dating perspective, both sexes speak highly of the opposite sex as friends, conversationalists, and activity partners. Many students have interesting opinions and beliefs and, for the most part, seem to be down-to-earth. The guys and girls at Berkeley appear to have their heads on their shoulders and respect each other for their intelligence, activity in the community, and high level of motivation.
