Advice on Finding a Job/Internship Although UC Berkeley’s Career Center is relatively far from campus, it offers many services to help students with their futures. For those too lazy to schedule an interview with the Center, the website offers many job listings, along with information about upcoming career fairs. Programs such as UCDC, Cal-in-the-Capital, and Cal-in-Sacramento also make it easy for students to intern over the summer in Washington, DC or Sacramento. Many departments have mailing lists that update students on internship opportunities in the area that are applicable to that major. Berkeley’s proximity to San Francisco also makes it easy for Cal students to get part-time internships in the City. While UC Berkeley is impressive to employers everywhere, San Francisco employers are especially excited by the name because Cal is by far the best school in the area (Stanford isn’t as accessible from San Francisco).
