Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Overall, students seem very impressed with the facilities on campus. Most students rave about the ARC, the student union (MU), computer labs, and libraries. Besides being pleased with the quality of the facilities, students are also grateful for the accessibility. The options are there and plentiful, and students are nothing but satisfied.

While UC Davis students enjoy many top-notch facilities, one establishment is particularly renowned. The Shields Library is one of the largest libraries nationwide. It provides a place for students to study (alone or with a study group), cram for midterms, and of course, sleep. With 3.24 million library volumes, Shields is a priceless resource for students to utilize for both academic reasons and leisurely reading.

I Am Not Too Involved Sociology, but the ARC Is Fun and the Library Is Great

I am not too involved this year and have rather spent most of my time home or visiting my hometown. I have gone to the ARC which is the state of the art gym. They have activities for anyone including a track on the second floor. The library is also a good place to study, its quiet and everyone is friendly.

A Really Nice Gym

At UC Davis, the gym is amazing. There are plenty of courts for basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, racquetball, badminton, and anything else you can imagine. There is even an indoor rock climbing wall if you want to climb and all the equipment are in good and working condition. The library is filled with many tables to study and even has a 24 hour study room that is accessible to anyone with an UC Davis ID card.

Computer Labs Are Very up-To-Date

The computer labs at UC Davis are very convenient and modern. We have the option of both using PCs and Macs and we have several computer centers across campus. We also just built a new Student Community Center and there are about three computer labs in that one building.
