I'm going to law school so...

Asian girls everywhere, UCLA. Yeah kids are smart. Realllllly smart.

I've never taken the campus shuttle mostly because I just haven't needed to, everything is in walking distance. Public buses are convenient when you want to go to Santa Monica or Venice for the day. Other than that California public transportation kind of sucks but then again you don't really need it unless you're going home or adventuring.
College Freshman 2013-12-09T10:17:51Z
We're super diverse, accepting, and chill.

There are a lot of people who choose to be in Greek life but just as many who don't. Frat parties are the only opportunity for huge parties but if you're down for smaller gatherings, tons of kids throw apartment parties. As a girl you can usually get into any of the frats but as a guy you have to be in a house to party greek or hit up one of the lower ranked houses. Also, Greek life provides pretty amazing housing. It's generally cheaper than dorming and the houses are basically mansions on the edge of Bel Air and tend to have chefs/maids. Greeks and non greeks get along just fine and most students have friends both in houses and not in houses. Overall, it's a great thing to be a part of and it definitely provides more social opportunities but you don't have to be in a frat or sorority to have a good time.

UCLA...110 NCAA championships that is all.

Living "on the hill" is pretty sweet but your experience is going to be different depending on what building you live in. They're all fairly new or have been recently updated and floors are usually rather social.
College Freshman 2013-12-09T10:05:05Z
In the city of LA...yeah
College Freshman 2013-12-09T10:04:09Z
Most kids drink and smoke weed but there isn't a huge presence of harder drugs.
College Freshman 2013-12-09T10:02:55Z
Basically cops here are just trying to make sure you're okay. THe only time you'll get in trouble for underage drinking is if you're like trying to assault someone. We're told at orientation as long as you're a happy drunk the cops won't care.

Guys & Girls:
Most people here take care of themselves pretty well. The freshman 15 is rather rare, in fact most kids I know have lost weight since being here. Since this campus requires a lot of walking and stairs, there are healthy food options everywhere, and the gym is beautiful and convenient, most people are attractive here.
College Freshman 2013-12-09T09:57:01Z
If you're a smart kid and you're persistant, you'll find the money to come here. The financial Aid office is super friendly and will really help you to get here and stay here.

At the end of the day, UCLA has it all. It's a school of incredibly talented athletes (110 NCAA championships), innovative thinkers, and seriously intelligent people. We know how to have a good time (there's almost always a party to go to). We have great Greek life. We have a million clubs where pretty much anyone can find a niche. And the foods amazing. And we're incredibly diverse. We're basically the best at everything.
College Freshman 2013-12-09T09:51:14Z
You can find parking if you want it. There are student parking lots but permits are pricey. I'd say if you don't need a car, don't bring it (especially for your freshman/sophomore year). You don't need it to get around campus or go into Westwood and traffic sucks in LA anyway.
College Freshman 2013-12-09T09:48:48Z
I mean you basically can wear shorts for most of the year. You're never hot. Occasionally you have to put on a sweater at night but, I mean, it's SoCal.
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:29:16Z
THe parties are fine, the people are fine, everyone I know in Greek life loves it.
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:27:58Z
I haven't lived off campus yet, my ratings have to do with what my friends have told me they experience.
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:27:05Z
Westwood was created to be a college town. Seriously, you can do anything you want here as a student. But we are also in LA so there is plenty to do if you get bored of it.
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:25:56Z
Lots of people drink. But I have never heard of anyone being pressured to.
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:25:13Z
Health & Safety:
We have CTOs. Just campus escort and van services don't run when you want them to, like on weekends after dark. Which is dumb, but there are walking escorts all the time, I think.

Guys & Girls:
I'm kind of confused. Like, there are lots of attractive people at this school... but we're so diversified. I'm not interested in everyone obviously. But there is someone for everyone. Why is this a question? Don't choose a school based on this...
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:22:22Z
THe school will provide you with many opportunities. Many of my friends are working professionally while still in school here.
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:21:12Z
I'm not quite sure how the rating is supposed to work. I mean, its not too strict unless you are putting yourself into immediate danger.
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:20:02Z
We have Quidditch! And its really easy to get involved in club and intramurals, most dorms have a team of some sort.
College Sophomore 2013-12-04T00:19:19Z
I'm part of the theater school, so our tolerance level is generally high. I can't really say much for the other parts of campus. I wrote that Political Affiliation in my friend group was totally homogenous, because we're all pretty much liberal. I do know that the campus as a whole is, however, pretty diverse in that sense as well.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
