Being at UCLA, you're in the heart of Los Angeles. Living in Westwood is unique. Everything you need is walking distance away. People may not seem very social at first but as a matter of fact the people can be very social. UCLA has many majors to choose from and internships can be found everywhere around the Los Angeles area.

It can be hectic trying to get a spot at the computer labs on campus during midterms, but especially so during finals. The networks are very fast and there has only been one time I remember that the network was down throughout the campus, but it's rare. I would say that it is necessary to have a laptop. If you can't get one you could always borrow one from one of our many libraries on campus. They are not always readily available though so it may be an inconvenience not having a laptop.

The drug scene at UCLA is not really big. You can smell it sometimes, but its not very noticeable. Drinking is a lot more noticeable and common among the students.

UCLA has students from all over the world! Most ethnic groups tend to clump together in their clubs, but everyone is really accepting. In all honestly, there are a lot of Asians, but that is to be expected at a UC school. Overall, though, there is so much diversity in all aspects. No one is left out.

Guys & Girls:
Everyone is very good looking! Friday afternoons at sunset recreation are when people sit out in their bathing suits and show off their hot bods. Definitely a type for everybody.

Greek life at UCLA is pretty predominant; everywhere you see there's most likely a frat or a sorority trying to recruit new students. Yes, they do do major events that many students participate in, but it isn't all the buzz. Above all, students at UCLA are there to study first, and party hard later.

Likewise, since UCLA is inside a city of automobiles, traffic for parking on campus can be a hastle. Be sure to arrive on campus at least 30-40 minutes before your class in order to find parking and make it to class on time.

Conveniently located in the bustling city of Los Angeles, UCLA is also bustling with many activities in and off campus. This ranges from going on a surf with your buds at Santa Monica to going along the Bruin team to their multiple sports competitions.

There is a variety to choose from:)

Everything depends on who you associate yourself with on campus. If the people around you are all active users of drugs, you'll be seeing a lot of drugs. If you surround yourself with people above the influence, you'll rarely encounter drugs.

Health & Safety:
I personally feel very safe on campus. However, the only reason I rate it as a B+ is due to the small encounters that are heard of on the news.

Lots of parties Thursday thru Saturday, a few ok bars, and some clubs which I'm not sure about.

At UCLA, Greek life is not that big of a deal. Frat parties are ok.

The computer labs at UCLA are packed in the afternoon, like 1-5pm, and during Midterms and Finals, but other than that you can find good spots. I love studying in Powell Library.

The food is really good and there is a huge variety with many places to go. The only think I dislike is that the food is not very healthy overall.

Dorms are either new or remodeled and dining halls are great

Local Attitude --- I absolutely love living in Westwood! It is so beautiful and there are so many little places to eat everywhere. There's also 2 movie theaters, Diddy Reese and many big chain restaurants like CPK and BJs.

The great thing about UCLA is that you don't need to have a car. Everything is walking distance and there are also buses that will take you to fun places (Santa Monica, The Getty, LACMA, etc.). This is super helpful since parking is a nightmare and super expensive.

The is some diversity at UCLA, but much like popular belief, the majority of the student body is Asian. There is a good number of Latin Americans but not many African Americans. UCLA has such a big student body, and I wish it was divided more equally.

UCLA has a bunch of computer labs. Some may be crowded, but you can always find one that has sufficient space for you to do your work.

As in every public street, parking always demands some sort of payment. Free spaces are usually taken up by those who live in the apartments.
College Sophomore 2013-07-21T16:09:06Z
UCLA's campus is really its own community, thus walking is the most used method of getting around. Transportation using vehicles is not utilized much, except by those who commute or have an apartment nearby. Even the students who live in this apartments are provided a shuttle.

The science majors at UCLA are all tough, but I love it!

Being a science major at UCLA requires a lot of hard work and dedication, but it is definitely worth it all.

The party scene is okay, there are plenty of frat parties during the weekend but nothing too wild. Most people drove to UCSB to party over the weekend.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
