The weather is always gorgeous, it only rains a few days a year and is always comfortable. I wear shorts 80% of the time and am fine! You can go to the beach almost any time of the year and is beautiful weather year round.

It is really fun at UCLA, there is always an apartment party or a frat house party to go to. There are 3 or 4 great bars within walking distance and everyone is really nice and we always have a great time. There are free safe-rides if needed and also taxis. There are no clubs very close, all are a bit of a drive away but no one goes to clubs because the frat parties are basically the same thing without having to spend money or worry about 21 and older restrictions.

There are several places to choose from int the city of Westwood, but the places are not all that convenient and with reasonable prices. For example there is a Bj's, but Bj's is not exactly cheap. We are better off just going to Ralphs (which is also in the city) and buying groceries for a more reasonable price.

The computer labs are always extremely full, and this is understandable. However, sometimes the printers are slow and they can delay.

I had never attended a school where there was so much diversity, personally. I have met people of many races, and I find this to be very different from my previous school but it makes me more knowledgeable of other cultures.

It's a nightmare, and it's expensive. It's currently $12 for the whole day, and you can only park at certain lots. The lots aren't very convenient, either. HOWEVER, you don't really need a car on campus, so if you don't have one, you shouldn't bring one, unless you plan on going around East L.A. or Santa Monica all the time, and even then, I would recommend taking the bus.

The computer lab is usually really crowded during the morning and early afternoon, but during the evenings and night-times, it's a nice place to go. There's the CLICC lab, which has a lot of computers. You have to wait in line, though, unless you use the standing print stations. However, there are laptop lending stations all across campus, where you can borrow a laptop (Macbook dual-boot into Mountain Lion and Windows 7) for 4 hours for free as long as you have your Bruin card. You can also renew it. After third week of school, the lab is open 24 hours from Monday to Friday, which is really nice. The wi-fi across campus is okay. It's better in the dorms but on campus it can be spotty (Rolfe and Dodd come to mind as being "poor wi-fi" places).

The UCLA Athletics program is a lot of fun. The Den pass is available for students for football and basketball games and all other games are free for students.

There are lots of options available and different payment methods available for printing documents.

The dining halls have great food and lots of options including buffets and take out food. Lots of chain restaurants and fast food options are also available on campus and in Westwood.

UCLA enforces many "no tolerance" polices. Warnings are very rare when it comes to issues like plagiarism and cheating. Alcohol use is a bit more of a flexible topic. Students are usually given one warning but after that you are sent to the dean's office. Underage drinking is strictly prohibited and campus police is very attentive to issues of that sort.

Not only does the campus shuttle provide convenient transportation to and from the campus apartments, the Los Angeles city buses are very helpful and efficient in getting you to places like Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Union Station and then back to campus. Riding the buses is very easy and quite cost efficient. Super shuttles and fly aways are also helpful when going from LAX to campus and vice versa. Overall, transportation is easy and excellent on campus.

Greek Life dominates the social scene. There's nowhere to really party other than frat houses or small apartments.

There are all kinds of dining options in Westwood with a variety of price ranges.

Bus fare is pretty cheap - 50 cents one way trip. Parking is $11/day or $3 per hour (pay at the pay stations in the parking structures and go in via the visitor section). THERE IS NO FREE PARKING AT UCLA. Citations are about $60 each. Travel on Campus - walk or use bike/skateboard/scooter. Rating is so low because the traffic in L.A. is pretty much always bad and congested.

I have to admit, the campus traditions are really nice to have. Sometimes there are too many events all the time. Libraries (Powell and Young Research) are both nice and spiffy. Aesthetics is something UCLA has definitely got with many of its North Campus architecture. And South Campus has grown on me, too with its more urban and industrious look.

Rarely see drugs unless you're looking for them. You'll see them especially at certain frat parties or parties in the apartments. Or you can just have a horrible roommate like my friend (my friend's roommate does LSD, Marijuana...) Chances of seeing drugs depends on how much you're actually looking for them and on your luck (or unluckiness).

Ethnic/racial Diversity: It really depends on who you meet and how far you'll go to meet new people. Generally, looking around campus, I see a lot of Asians, Whites, occasional Blacks, Hispanics. It's quite diverse here. Political Beliefs: If it helps, most people here were rooting for Obama. Religion: All sorts. My roommates are both Catholics. I've met an atheist, met agnostics.

The diversity at UCLA is beyond excellent. In fact, it was for the diversity of UCLA that I have chosen UCLA over many other schools that I have been accepted into, for example, Georgetown University, George Washington University, UC Berkeley, and Carleton College. From what I am aware of, UCLA is one of the most diverse campuses in the United States. During your daily lives on campus, you can hear so many languages just passing by.

Campus Housing is of superb quality at UCLA. All facilities are essentially new. Even if they were built a long time ago, the UCLA Housing Services managed and maintained those relatively old buildings in an excellent fashion. In my opinion, it is one of the top housing facilities in the nation, if not the world.
College Sophomore 2012-12-12T14:35:37Z
The computer labs are readily accessible in all areas of the residential area at UCLA. They are never full, for there are so many computer labs around the campus and for the number of computers in each computer lab is extremely high. The computer labs are sophisticated in that they have a separate lab of iMacs with all necessary high-tech software and programs and another lab of regular PCs also with all necessary high-tech software and programs. The quality of printing is excellent, though it costs money.
