I have heard of minor occasions where drugs have been involved, but overall I have never seen it and I am never pressured for any of it.

All the food here is amazing, especially the desserts.

Guys & Girls:
Everyone's dressed in fashionable summer clothes but not many guys are good looking. The girls are pretty though.

It's sunny. I like the warm weather but it's easy to get tanned.

The dining halls, in my opinion, were awesome. Tons of choices, lots of hangout spots and lots of options whether you care about the freshman 15 or not

Although the computers/laptops are fairly new, there doesn't seem to be enough of them at peak times throughout the year. They have a pager system for library computers, but there is always a line at the main library. there are tons of other computer labs on campus, so the wait times may be less at these labs. The school has WiFi throughout, so that helps if you already own a laptop.

There is quite a bit of diversity on campus and every group has an association/fraternity/etc to cater to it. While everyone accepts and acknowledges these groups, there is not too much mixing between the groups.

There are many restaurants in Westwood, from California Pizza Kitchen and BJ's to In N Out and Five Guys. These are the bigger, more well-known places, but the smaller ones are great, too. Gushi--Korean cuisine--gives enormous portions of meat, rice, kimchi, etc. for less than $10. Angelino's Cafe--Italian--gives great quality pastas for around the same price. There's also, of course, Diddy Riese, famous for its cookies and ice cream. Everything is a bit more expensive now than it used to be ($1 to $1.25 for a scoop of ice cream, for example), but it's still extremely popular. There's almost always a line for it! So many dining options outside of campus--it's spectacular. Also, many places have discounts for UCLA students. Just ask them when you enter, and it's usually a 10-20% discount, if not a free side dish or drink.

Beautiful weather. It is Los Angeles, after all. Rarely ever any rain, rarely ever very cold. When it's hot, it can get very hot, but that's what lecture hall AC is for!

Parking on campus is outrageously expensive: $250+ for a quarter permit (and you can't even park wherever you want anytime), $11 for a day permit in one of the parking lots or structures, and $18 for a day permit right next to the administrative/ professional school buildings. Ridiculous.
Most of the street parking off campus is only two hours, and this includes meter parking. Only one small part of Hilgard Avenue has free parking, but one side has street parking on Thursdays (the other side doesn't seem to have street parking), and it's extremely difficult to find a spot on this street since time is unlimited and it's free.
You really don't need a car on campus, though. Everything is walking distance, and you can always take the BruinBus (campus shuttle) to and from various locations.

I have just started UCLA and personally I am not a big fan of attending random parties, but I have heard the parties are pretty good.

Everything is so alright here. We have various cultures community and every culture has a interesting thing about it and that makes us, the students, feel comfortable about the atmosphere here which has non-dominant particular.

I enjoyed the experience being an International student. The staff was nice and polite.

There are parking lots in the school and they are very efficient in giving tickets. the only problem is the distance u have to walk from the parking lot to where you are going.

The computer labs at the law school were up to date and we had high speed internet and wifi. we could also print in the lab.
College Junior 2012-09-27T22:58:36Z
The athletics here are some of the best in the nation. We have several huge gyms around campus where athletes train, and also an IM field for the other popular sports.
College Junior 2012-09-27T22:53:52Z
The drug scene here is not big, and the only things I see are people smoking in designated areas. Other than that I don't really notice.

There are Covel, De Neve, Hedrick, and Feast. I like Covel the most because it's in a central area--next to Bruin Cafe, on the way to North Campus, etc. And there's a nice computer lab right upstairs. The food gets quite monotonous sometimes: some kind of pasta next to the pizza, some type of meat across from there, and then the typical grilled cheese sandwich, hamburger, and grilled chicken breast (available in every dining hall but Feast). De Neve has the best salads, but it is extremely crowded. Hedrick is the worst dining hall, with the worst salads and least variety and worst quality of foods.

The weather is nearly always perfect. Summers are full of sunshine and breeziness. Winters are not that bad or too cold. I'm the type of person who enjoys the occasional fog and sometimes that marine layer that envelops the school can make for perfect cuddle weather. Lately, it's been around 90 degrees on campus during the day and it dips down to around 60 at night. This is as much as the weather will vary.

Guys & Girls:
The campus is diverse. You'll find sorority girls, engineering nerds, smart stoners, hot-stuck up fratty guys, average guys, average girls, hipsters, and people of all shapes and colors. This campus is not like high school whatsoever. As clique-y as it may sound from my description, everyone is really friendly and gets along with each other quite well. It's very easy to make friends here.

Guys & Girls:
Lots of smart and nerd guys and girls on campus. Everyone is generally pretty fit from all of the walking through the hilly campus and spending time at John Wooden Center. They girls are beautiful and they guys are good looking but on the shorter side.

It's beautiful sunny california weather all year round. Something, some clouds would be nice though. This summer has been in the 90's almost everyday!

So many options and so delicious. With options from sack lunch, bruin cafe, and cafeteria style dining, its always easy to find something you want and need. Also, SO MANY HEALTHY OPTIONS.

UCLA is a top-notch institution with exceptional faculty. Many professors hold degrees from top universities in the nation and bring their academic expertise and personal experiences to the classroom. The only downside is that classes are rather large, intimidating, and extremely competitive. Getting to know a professor on a personal basis may be rather difficult at UCLA. All in all, however, UCLA is a wonderful academic institution with bright and determined students in every major and department across campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
